Awesome explanation thanks! How about? Reach into your flight bag and grab your backup radio? Also what if comms back up mid flight? I imagine you contact approach and beg forgiveness? Or expect intermittency on radios? Thank you!

Hey everyone i'm Andy looking for a quick bit of advice. So I just retired from the military this month at age 39 after 20 years. I had an aviation job in the Navy for 20 years, and im an active skydiver who loves aviation. Iv always wanted to become a CFI and run a small flight school. Or work as a jump pilot at a skydive drop zone. Zero desire for the airlines. Im ready NOW to start flight training at 110%. My problem is I went to rehab for alcohol only about 7 months ago. I have to make clear, that I didn't go because of a court order, or because I got a DUI or some drunken bar fight .. NO.. I went to rehab purely on a volunteer basis to ask for help in cutting back. Now that im alcohol free, I want to pursue flying but im hearing a lot of negativity about a medical cert. I wanna start flying tomorrow, but I dont wanna start if medical will hold me back.. Feedback????

1:10 I never agreed on getting the 1st class medical to know if you’re “eligible”… 1) if youre healthy you can pass all certs 2) you can always get sick with age or time, today you pass the next day, you don’t. If the price isn’t a big difference from 1 and 3 then go ahead and get 1st. But just know you’ll definitely have to do your medical again for when your ATP ready a d looking for jobs(same with 3rd class but might just be slightly cheaper this route if you’re on a budget). But again its not a guarantee that you’ll be healthy for when you do your medical again.

Hi, thanks for your comment and providing that insight! The reason we recommend aspiring commercial airline pilots to get their First Class Medical before starting flight training is to ensure that they are eligible to become an airline pilot once they complete training. While individuals may be completely healthy, the First Class Medical could flag something in their medical history that may create an obstacle in their career goals. Getting the First Class Medical beforehand allows students to avoid running into any issues with it after spending time and effort on all their training!

Wait that 95 on the taxi column,where is it coming from?
@flyaeroguard4 ай бұрын
Hi, thanks for your comment! The 95 inches (Arm Aft Datum) comes from the Pilot’s Operating Handbook where it’s published under the Weight and Balance section (Section 6) for fuel allowance including engine start, taxi, and run up. We hope this helps, and let us know if you have any other questions!

Be careful of a "gotcha" on a checkride. LPV is not considered a precision approach for "planning purposes" ( Alternates), despite it having lateral & vertical guidance and a DA commonly as low as 200 AGL. Not to be categorized as a precision approach by ICAO. Although you do fly it the same way from a 'technique' perspective. You may file as an alternate airport if it just has an LPV and it's an acceptable alternate, but you have to use the non-precision 800-2 weather forecast minimums at ETA, if you want to file it as your Alternate airport on your IFR flight plan.

Hi, we value your feedback to ensure our videos are helpful and informative! Our goal with this video was calculate the ground speed and time en route using the E6B flight computer. By showing the steps we follow using the E6B flight computer to complete this example test question, we hope that this visual helps viewers better understand how to use the device and apply it to future examples.

@thomasgross28414 ай бұрын
1. Please get a magic marker that actually has some fluid in it. 2., when you wrote minimum visibility of one statute mile. It looks like you wrote 2 statute miles. No reason to write a fancy one. Just draw a vertical line instead of some fancy version of 1 that looks like a 2. 3. I fully endorse the easy calculation of 1.5 for minimum climb. But I also think it’s a good idea to review use of the tables and interpolation. 4. I watched this because I thought you were going to cover SID. You should rename this video as ODP. But, I actually appreciate the review of ODP‘s. 5. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think there are additional requirements for ODP‘s, such as, minimum departure of 35 feet above the DER, and turn out 400 feet above the ground if there are no other requirements. 5. As I recall, ODP‘s are not optional. ODP is what you’re required to fly and ATC will expect you to fly those ODPs. Please correct me if I’m wrong on any of these points.
@flyaeroguard4 ай бұрын
Hi, thanks for your comment! We appreciate your feedback to ensure our videos provide accurate and helpful information in a clear and concise way. You are correct about the ODP requirements that you listed, and there’s also an additional requirement to ensure obstacle clearance - you must also hold at least a 200fpnm climb gradient. If you accept the ODPs as part of your clearance instructions, you legally must comply with the required climb gradient and hold at least the textual description. If you’re not able to meet the climb gradient criteria, then you need to notify ATC. We hope this additional information is helpful and supports your knowledge of ODPs!

Thank you for this! But to my understanding the yawing doesn't make one wing receive more airmass but it increases the airspeed on the outer wing and thus makes the lift increase as it is a part of the lift formula. Is this correct or did I get it wrong?
