Another really good (and fair) review . I think what could enhance alot of these newer sets would be the re-introduction of corner flags , scoreboard and dare I say it a trophy.

Found a Subbuteo set in parents loft over the weekend so set it up and played a few games with my daughter. Have had the best time. Then ended up down a KZbin subbuteo rabbit hole and came across your channel. So much nostalgia on here. Great work!

@@SubbuteoCollector Hah, if I was being a nause I'd say seeing the Maradona figure on fire... but objectively, as a set... What you mentioned about have several figures of him in kits of all the teams, then having an opposing team that was somewhat contentious (so for Argentina obvs an England team), better quality goal nets!, and to pull it all together a little booklet about Maradona, his achievements, etc. You could even add in a joke figure in a non-playing but iconic pose (picture the Gazza set with that 😬).

Good review Stew. I think they've missed a trick with this set. They should have put in kits which Maradona played in. BUT! Imagine you're a youngster whose Dad has told him all about how great the game is. You get this set, and find 20 players and two goalkeepers in about nine different kits!!!!! You would be a bit confused, to say the least. Anyhoo, I like your fair review a lot. Good job. Also, many thanks for mentioning the Leicester Foxes Collectors' Fair, coming up on June 11th. I don't want to offend you I was searching around on KZbin that is worth of a replacement for TFM. I will love to collect Subbuteo, build realistic dioramas of stadiums with the right sizes to play Subbuteo matches and maybe some Subbuteo Solo Tournaments, Subbuteo is easy to play but the rules are so complicated, I only can flick for passing and I am so bad for shooting to the goals because my fingers aren't strong enought to shoot for the goal. I'm unable to make the Leicester subbuteo fair this year so I treated myself to this. I'm with you on this Stewart about the goals. Not good & need to improve but how long have you been saying that. The 2nd team should have been another Maradona team or the Argentina away kit. I also think that you have made a great shout out for Pele , Best sets. Even get a Cruyff one.

Another great review mate and I definitely agree with most of what your saying....and it would be nice to see other box sets with legends on but I can't forgive Maradona for the hand of god lol fantastic footballer but sadly a cheat. The set does look great and I actually like the different colour base its a good touch but they have definitely missed a trick not having a different 2nd team just a plain red. Anyways great review as always mate
