I saw these guys on YT 4 years ago and could see they were very good BUT now they're EXCELLENT! There is no band that sound exactly like Gary Numan but these lads! Someone said they were arrogant? But Chris seems very humble great interview enjoyed it Cheers!

This is a very atmospheric, Numan-esque instrumental, that compliments its celestial subject very well. I would have liked to have heard a key change at some point - I was waiting for it to rise to the subdominant, or something - but the whole futuristic feel to this track is great, and it definitely takes one to another place and dimension.👌🎶

Thank you - I had never seen this before! I am from Malta which is close to Italy so as a child I would watch Discoring quite regularly every Sunday night - it was Italy's Top of the Pops. I remember seeing Kraftwerk for the first time on this show, but must have missed Gary's appearance. The presenter who jumped on stage at the end was Claudio Cecchetto, a very well known producer of bands in Italy, who later 'discovered' Sabrina Salerno of 'Boys Boys Boys' fame :-) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Claudio_Cecchetto He says that Gary Numan has become a 'mito' - a 'myth' or legend for young people in England. It's interesting to see how the record company was still promoting 'Tubeway Army' and 'AFE' in Italy in early 1980, even though Gary had gone solo by late 1979.

You can't see the Rockies at all from Vancouver. You can see lots of mountains, but definitely not the Rockies. Very far way. Hm... For an Englishman... That would be like seeing some mountains in Ukraine from the UK.

I remember walking along Princes Street, Edinburgh in my red belted black flying suit circa Telekon and thinking I was the dogs bollocks until I bumped into a girl I knew, who complimented me on my get up and asked 'Are you wearing make up, Andy'? ... 'Yes' said I ... "You've forgotten to put some on your nose" ... Ahh the good old days and I'm still a fan.😊

Gotta love Rusty. I love Visage for it's music and was never a fan of Steve Strange, and even less so after hearing stories. Rusty's albums really are classy and I am personally pleased that Rusty went down the route he did.

Odd that Sylvian should faze out Rob and then tour Tin drum with Matsami Tsuchiya catawalling on guitar and throwing rock shapes, dropping to his knees ect on the Tin Drum tour.. Thank god they mixed him down for Oil on Canvas because let me tell you live at Japans Hammersmith Odeon final two nights when I saw them he was a nightmare compared to the tasteful and subltle playing of Rob Dean or David Rhodes.
@johnnyconnelly727810 ай бұрын
Best guitarist of the eighties.. Duran Duran for one ripped japan off completely.Robs solos on Quiet life and GTP were peerless.(.I thought Tin drum was souless without Robs playing) His work on Numans' Dance ' was brilliant too.I Saw Japan many times and one of the best was at the Lyceum. On a couple of songs Rob didn't play a note though and just stood there so the writing was on the wall.. To the left up in one of the boxes there was Gary Numan. This was the launch show for GTP in Nov 1980 and the Dance lp which featured Dean and Karn was nearly a year away. .triv alert- Sylvian wore the same jacket as the one on the rear of the tin drum sleeve.
