Hey Jeff, I just discovered your videos and I really like them. just out of curiosity what are you shooting with and do you use a full size tripod? keep up the great work. it seems you love the outdoors as much as I do.

Thanks for watching. On this video I used a Nikon z6 II and a lightweight tripod. Sometimes I just carry a go pro though. Happy hiking.

You got some cinematic quality shots there during the first day hike with those epic fog layers and the sunlight. Often those are hard to achieve.

Although it would not be dramatic to those looking for adventure, a walk along the Lower Salmon River Trail near Welches is worth a hike and a video. Starting where the bridge crosses the River at the north end of the road and walking the trail south is about 2-1/2 miles, and the round trip makes it 5 miles. We walked this trail in all seasons for many years. Now that we are older and our hiking days are over, I would love to walk it once again. Thank you.😮😮

It's really creepy how they have cameras mounted all along the trails like this, watching people hike. It makes you move all stiff and awkward when you know you're being filmed. Privacy just doesn't exist anymore and trails full of funny walking people.

In many of the scenes while he was supposed to be hiking towards Coldwater Peak he was actually hiking in the wrong direction. That must be how he accumulated enough miles and elevation gain to get to the summit and back but failed to reach the summit.
@jeffshanes23272 жыл бұрын
Hi Frank, there were lot of switchbacks which can look like different directions. I did an up and back and also walked Devils Point but didn’t list it. There is also a T in the trail that goes right to Harry's Ridge Trail and left to Coldwater Peak. I did Harry's Trail first and then came back down and started up Coldwater Trail.
