Really nice. Love how walnut makes everything pop. Would enjoy a little insight on 3-D carving when you're available. I keep wanting to try it but I need to get some instruction. I do have a onefinity Journeyman and use VCarve pro and haven't upgraded to new vcarve. Merry Christmas to you and your family.

This one took about 10 hrs. But I think it would have been quicker if I downloaded the tool database for the specific bit. At the time I was still figuring out the vectric software. Thanks for watching!

Nice job, it came out really cool!!! 👍👍 Why did you glue the two pieces together instead of using one piece of plywood or MDF since you painted it?

I’m new to CNC and learning. Did you do a rough cut first then a detail pass? Also what was your bit choose on this project.
@encarwoodworking

So for this piece I did not do a rough pass. I used a 60 degree vbit for the entire piece then a 1/4 downcut end mill for the profile pass. Welcome to the world of CNC and the rabbit hole!

I'm curious as to why you did the profile pass first?
@encarwoodworking
@encarwoodworking 5 ай бұрын
I tend to a profile pass first because, for me, if the piece is going to fail it will usually be when I do profile cut. So I’d rather fail the first 10 mins in than cut the entire 3d relief pass, which could be 1 hour + then fail during the profile pass. Hope I explained it well enough. I received that question a few times so I’m getting the feeling I’m doing it ass backwards lol. Thanks for watching!
@D-GatDesignsLLC
@D-GatDesignsLLC 5 ай бұрын
@encarwoodworking the problem with doing it first you just eliminated a lot of your work holding even with the tape (which I am not a fan of at all). So now all that lateral first exerted while doing the other operations is more likely to make your work move or break completely off.
@encarwoodworking
@encarwoodworking 5 ай бұрын
In this case you are absolutely right. Usually I use clamps and tabs. And the tabs are pretty thick. So on this piece I resorted in doing the same process but not using tabs, which definitely an oversight

What does the oramask do? Could you sand the top instead?
@PiercesPerfectPieces
@PiercesPerfectPieces 5 ай бұрын
What grit sandpaper did you use to sand all that off?? & how far (total) did you cut down on the depth?? I would think that if you used to coarse of a grit of sandpaper it’d removed spots that you don’t want to be removed. And I would also that think that if you didn’t cut down far enough (Z-) it’d remove a spots that you don’t want removed when you go to sand it down. 🤔 🤷‍♂️ Anyways great video though! Thanks 👍
