I know this is a old post. Im 57 been driving for 43 yrs. Im currently working on my class A CDL. I have a CLP and a DOT physical. Although I am working on a CDL i prefer to drive straight truck or van maybe hauling camping trailers or part delivery of some kind. I do not have Facebook do you know of any companies in or around Michigan that are looking for drivers. I am single so away from home time is acceptable.

When I had my Semi truck leased on with a carrier, I came up with a saying " If it dosn't profit me then, I don't turn the key" We are not in Business to make money for those Companies and their Dispatchers while LOSING money!

@indiothehauler7418 Google "expedite freight carriers." Call them and ask if they're taking on the type of van you plan to buy. Barret Directline, Load 1, Panther, C&M Transport are a few to begin with. We also take on owner operators.

We pay $0.85/loaded mile as a base rate of pay. More info in the contract. We do not lock you into working with us for any period of time.

Great video! One of the better upfront reality videos about the industry. I don't think most people realize how difficult it is (mentally) to driver around 1000 miles in a 24 hour period.

Great van! I just put a deposit down on the same exact spec (ecoboost, extended, high roof, 2020 with 90k miles). Just had it inspected, it had light rust on undercarriage which I think is normal, one tire with low tread to replace, exhaust leak to fix, and OBD2 showed that engine misfired so going to have spark plugs checked/replaced and maybe add HEET to gas tank.

@baldino.soccer the misfire is almost definitely new plugs and/or coils needed. The turbo requires tune up around 70k. Great vans. Any questions feel free

Heater buddy's have several safety features, including an oxygen sensor, and tip sensor. Both are incredibly sensitive and will automatically shut off if there isn't enough oxygen in the space. A slight tip will shut it off too.

You should base your cost on the federal mileage rate because that's what you deduct on your taxes. A business should make a profit after expenses. You should also be able to pay yourself a salary and still have a profit afterward for the business. If you can't do that, you're not running a business, you are running a non-profit.

Hey EA i have a question for you, i hope i can word it correctly. I want to get started as an owner operator. The question is about working for another carrier as an "owner operator". Can i work for another carrier with my own LLC. I plan to purchase the van and the insurance under the LLC which i have set up in another state(Tennessee, where as i live in NY), for tax purposes. Is that allowed. Additionally i know i can drive under the carriers authority but do i still need a dot number? 2 questions. If you could shine some light it would be much appreciated! Mine was running beautifully last season and I even fired it up a week ago without issue. Now, for the first time it turns on the fan, it shows the icon for what looks like. The belly intake exhaust and then it shows the glow plug after running for a few moments. The fuel pump kicks on after a few moments of that the glow plug turns off and it seems to be operating but with no heat output no sign of glow plug indicator and pumping diesel fuel out the exhaust pipe
