Good job guys! The 7310 in the woodpile just straight cutting is about 25 minutes plus or minus to a tank of fuel. They are very efficient. That 620 sounds and cuts very nice that is a hard saw to beat for the price.

I have personally heard and ran his 562xp with the steadfast forestry products muffler, and you aint kidding one of the loudest saw I have ever heard. Think it has to do the the thick metal gauge material and large open area allowing the exhaust pitch to amplify.

Excellent work you two!! White oak is one of my top favorite wood species. All those saws ran great, it sometimes gets boring running the same saw all the time, you have a very nice selection of saws.

I absolutely love swapping back-and-forth. The cool thing about it is that none of the sauces ever accumulate a ton of hours individually, they all just kind of grow slowly with one another. Of course, that won’t do much for me being able to speak to the durability of each and every model but as far as usability, it goes a long way. I get to kinda see how each one feels and operates, and I can talk about which one I would rather use. I have to say it the 562 XP is just absolutely delightful to use without a doubt. It was nice when it was stock, but it is even better now with the modified muffler. I’m really excited to see what the 7310 is gonna be like. I keep saying it but the more I edit videos with the saw in it the more I realize how nice it is. It is very smooth to use and does have a little bit of a Husqvarna feel to it in terms of smoothness. I’m gonna cut a bit more with it and I’m gonna eventually show how clean the air cleaner is because I’m not touching it. I think everyone’s going to be impressed!
@zeromark2028 сағат бұрын
For real dude! And having friends that are into saws also is awesome, buddy of mine just bought a super nice ms260 and ms360 I got to try out. Husky, Echo, and Stihl all make great saws. All of them will last a long time with a sharp chain, good fuel/oil mix, cleaning periodically, and proper maintenance. Most of what I see with failures have been abuse imo. Have a Timberwolf 590 I’m keeping 100% completely stock, just so I can go back in fourth and feel the huge differences. I totally agree with the 562, I sure enjoy running my 572. They’re basically the same other than power and displacement. Your 562xp does have the upgraded pleated air filter correct? Stihl has the worst air filtration imo. With the o-ring on the 590/600/620 chassis it’s better than the Stihl’s. Cant wait till A2 designs comes out with there setup, it looks super nice and having an actual washable filter will last years.

Yes, it’s last of the mark i 562 saws. Still lets fines in. Your 572 will likely do it too. Sounds super cool that you got to run those other saws man.

Looks like it was a good time, that ported 620 is a sweet saw. I’d love to see super Dave work his magic on that 7310 though, if he got the same sort of gains it would be a 500i killer for sure. Id personally take that 562 though, that’s such a sweet saw. Your going to think I’m crazy but this year I ran a 390XP W with a 32in full skip square chain to cut 12 cords of hard wood fire wood and idk if I’d go back to a smaller saw unless I’m having to really brush out the trees then I’d take a high rpm port job with a full comp 28 or 32. Great video as always man, can’t wait to see what’s next.

Nice load of firewood. Suggestion, look at your 620 chain. When you switched to the Echo you could see the teeth hanging. From experience this will allow the chain to throw off the bar easier. Especially when you're limbing and the bar's twisted up. Bucking perpendicular to the ground you usually can get away with a loose chain. It only takes a few minutes to tighten it up, saves the chain and bar. maybe you also. I've been guilty of it myself, when you're in the cut you don't want to stop. Have a great day.

Good morning Joe. That 562 has a sweet sound. Noticed your chain was extremely loose. You should pay more attention to that to stay safer. Enjoy. Nazdravja.
@oakiewoodsman16 сағат бұрын
Thanks again. It could have been tightened a bit for sure but I do not find the chain derails really any more often with it running like that. Jason @rafterEranch sets his chains like this on purpose and the man undoubtedly has a resume to back up his experience. Generational Redwood Loggers out of the PNW. He no doubt thinks I run my stuff too tight most often. On a 20" bar in this type of cutting, I do prefer it being slightly more tight though.
@anthonycengia65933 сағат бұрын
Nice job. One piece of advice, I've noticed that you lean your hear over the chain a lot. Probably a habit you need to adjust, it isn't overly safe.
@oakiewoodsman2 сағат бұрын
Thanks for watching. Are you saying to keep my face out of the kickback zone? If so, that would be a good idea and I could likely do better at it. In practice it may not always work out that way. I have learned my lesson and keep a firm grip on the saw.

It always seems best to me to start at the top of the tree and work your way down limbing, them mark your rounds from the base of the limb. Once that is done, start cutting off the suspended end before cutting off the whole limb. This way you aren't cutting on the ground if possible.
@oakiewoodsman16 сағат бұрын
I would if I was cleaning up by hand. I was cutting the sweet spot out of the top and a machine is getting the rest to be burned. Thanks for watching and sharing!

Those limbs are as big as the trees I cut up for firewood. That’s what we have and it seams faster then cutting up big trees that are horrible to split.

@nseric123317 сағат бұрын
I like cutting them up and have a big fast saw but hate wrestling big pieces onto the splitter. We have one big nasty birch tree in the wood pile, I’m going to use it testing saws and burn the cookies lol

Yeah it’s a lot of fun, I noodle them down until I can pick them up. What is your big saw? Using a 660 but definitely sucks the fuel especially noodling.
@oakiewoodsman16 сағат бұрын
@nseric1233 I think that wood around 12-15" is perfect. Makes really nice looking firewood and I feel as if you move through it fairly quickly. The large round do take lots of time to process down because they are tough to handle!

500i weighs less than a 7310 or a 620 and will out perform both by a lot. 500 only weighs 8 ounces more than a 562 . Yes, I have run or owned all.saws.in the video. Never saw a broke 500 either . Just observations from a saw fan . You really need to run MS 400 ( 66.5 cc version, the original)
@oakiewoodsman16 сағат бұрын
The 500i is an amazing saw with a muffler mod. The 400C would be a great saw but I am also interested in the 400.1 due to the weight savings yet again. The 462 is also a great option in that sliding weight scale as well! Thank you for watching and commenting! my 7310 is going out for porting soon and I have a feeling it is going to be awesome!

How close in power do you think the ported 620 is to the stock 7310?
@oakiewoodsman13 сағат бұрын
I think they may be close. This every things has made me acutely aware of how much displacement matters. My 620 is seemingly spinning at a much higher RPM but doesn’t seem to have the low end that the 7310 does. In 6-10” wood the 620 beats the 7310 I do believe in 18 and above, I do not think there is a comparison. The 7310 works much better dogged in. You can hear it clean up in the cut. I wouldn’t mind a bit more rpm and more snap out of the saw but that’s what porting ought to accomplish. The 7310 is VERY nice to run. I need to do a test between the G372 372 XT and the 7310 before the saw gets sent off. While I am at it, I need to also test the 620p.

So much good wood in those tree tops! Around here al the tree service guys will just chip anything less than 12”. In the interest of time and safety they don’t want anyone else on their job site cutting tops for firewood. Such a waste…☹️
@oakiewoodsman16 сағат бұрын
yes! There is a bunch of good wood and I honestly left even more there but I am just unwiling to take anything under 3" or so. I find that Oak just doesn't season well with the bark on it. I split wood fairly small and even those are too small to split to me.

Because I tugged a little here and there. Undoubtedly not a best practice however, the legendary saws of old easily held up to it like the 044 and 372.

My 500i is still in great condition after 4 years of tree service. Abuse can break anything. Is the echo tougher? Maybe? Dont give powersaws to cave men and you shouldn't have any problems.
@mikew937117 сағат бұрын
Comparing the two is like comparing can am to Honda... One makes enough power to break itself, the other makes just enough to make it work
@johngardner302017 сағат бұрын
@mikew9371 I think the moment at which he questioned whether a 500i would have broken was when he yanked on it with a pinched bar. While I see what you're saying, power wasn't really the reason he questioned its durability. Does the echo have tougher antivibe/chassis and intake boot? It might but if you are reaming on a saw hard enough to find out, then well 🤦♂️
@oakiewoodsman16 сағат бұрын
@johngardner3020. True! It is interesting though that STIHL made a durable and light saw..... the 400C. The 500i is incredible for sure. I would love to own one but I am thinking this 7310 is going to rock ported and honestly still come on under the price of a 500i. Plus the air cleaner is incredible.
