That’s how I feel about all the Cherokee Purples I’ve ever grown… just bland.

What would your top 4 or 5 Red tomatoes be? Good classic flavor.. Slicers to big meaty varieties.

To be fair to Northern Lights - they do not go bad fast, in fact they store pretty well in my basement. And I like the taste.

Hey Jen what would the name of the tomato be if it was developed by: Hubert Blaine Wolfeschlegelsteinhausenbergerdorff Sr. this is a real guy in Germany. Just adding some additional humor to the video. Sea ya next thyme.

I MUST get seeds for Miss Scarlet! Your reaction is exactly the same reaction I had with Bacon Lettuce and This which isn’t a surprise since it is from the same line. Wish we could have compared them this season! Sounds amazing!

We LOVED Jaune Flamme last year! Was our earliest variety and made us initially pucker with citrusy flavor then sweetness. I missed it this year!

Wish your season went a bit better so you could taste more, but I shall hook you up with all my varieties from this year, my love.

Growing so many varieties, do you ever find a “diamond” in amongst all the unknowns… It would seem like the best cultivars are already popular for a reason?!? Just wondering.. I’m flirting with trying out a bunch as well..

I have the exact same refractometer. I grew jarson 1 and 18 they were just ok probably won't grow again had high hopes, but King blue, Sandburg green, Rebel Starfighter Kayleigh Anne, kozula 138, kozula 125, Cherokee lime stripes and chocolate stripes were all winners. Thanks for doing these taste test it helps me choose new varieties each year.

your tomatoes ripened a lot earlier, in West Virginia. and here in oregon, i got my first ripe beefsteak a day ago [after planting a week after last frost] and it looks like i'll get one more before the chill of autumn hits. from two plants... this year has been BAD for me for everything but green beans and sunflowers... even tho this is the first year the squirrels have left my garden beds alone. stuff actually grew better w/ squirrels digging out my beds. weird? yes. if i were a bitter person, i would quit gardening here and now. but i'm a stubborn person that refuses to give up. 🤣🤣🤣

Hey Jen. I got some seeds from MI Gardner this year for the pink berkley tie dye tomatoes and most of the tomatoes I got weighed in at a pound or more give or take they were prolific and boy where they delicious. Have you grown them? I had some serious competition in size between the Hilbilly tomaoes , the Paul Robesons and the pink berkly tie dye. The winner was defenately the pink berkly tie dye.

I grew 3 different Bumblebee cherry tomatoes green, purple and sunrise they all grew weird and tasted bland and were mealy, I haven't completely given up on Bumblebee but I don't think I will grow any of these maybe try pink Bumblebee. I have grown a 2.5 lb to almost 3 pound tomato every year until this year non were red Virginia sweets, Orange Brandywine, Ananas Noire. I have some near 2lbs but not quit 2lbs but I do single vine prune them all it's been a rough weather year.

You’ll see some pretty cool mushrooms, pop up. I will get these chips from tree cutters, big piles, throw coffee grounds from Starbucks in there and have my chickens climb all over them look for bugs and poop and they would spread them out and make soil for me plus I have millipedes making millipooh

Hmm, I wonder if the Dwarf Berry Multiflora was an offshoot of the Berry’s Crazy Cherry. They are also a pale multiflora variety and the plants aren’t very tall either. (& the name… coincidence?) Might have been like a 2nd or 3rd gen plant that was grown out and cultivated.
