Very nice work! I'm a autobody guy and am a perfectionist as well, (at least try anyway lol), and so I appreciate you. I would sure buy a guitar that you made.

Is that an Ernie Ball style neck you made? I'm in the process of building an Axis copy. I've built bodies, but never necks, so this is doubly nerve-wracking since it's a spoke wheel rod and not a normal one.

Lots of good advises, thanks. I would like satin neck, can I skip the vax and get a good neck anyway?

The black dyed pieces, do you soak them in dye so that it penetrates enough to not disappear during any cutting or sanding? Thanks!

That’s beautiful, but a whole lot of CNC went into that hand crafted guitar.

Hands-down, the best tutorial, how to shape an electric guitar neck! I watch this video the first time I started building 10 years ago and been using this technique ever since even on my acoustic guitars! Much appreciated. Thank you so much❤

Goodnight! Could you tell me how many kilos your CNC motors weigh, please? All 3 of you, thank you very much in advance. And just adding that you are like a mentor to me, all I try to do is follow in your footsteps in luthiery. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

I just finished building my first guitar and I worked off this video series as best as I can. Mine doesn’t look anywhere near as good as yours but you have inspired me to keep making them. I hope one day to make a guitar half as good as the ones you make. Thanks for this fantastic series!

I call this a cnc build.not much hand work done.most builders can afford cnc ,overhead pin routers . Most hand work was on the finger board. Not knocking the guitar at all. Its beautiful.

Don't you need a protective lacquer coat first before the filler??? I used dark brown timber mate on my first experience finishing Ash, nicely popping the grain. I forgot to shoot it with lacquer first, it stained the white grain all to hell, so I had to sand it for days to get it out. The second try I gave it a nice thick protective lacquer coat first and it worked great. If I do it again I'll certainly use Timber Mate again - and NOT forget the protective coat. Good stuff.

So, to make a 10-20$ pickguard, I first need to have a 1500$ routing table, 1000$ belt saw table, and a workshop to store it at. Seems reasinable and affordable enough 😎👍

I realize this is old but for current or future viewers, I suggest a carburetor cleaning brush set that will have a range of fine brushes that can clean the screw holes for the tuners after getting polish in them.

I know this is an eleven year old video but I just have to say what an amazing artist Mr. Fletcher is. Watching him shape that neck makes it look so easy that I feel like I could do it myself. Oh, sure, I get it that when I actually try it, mine won't look anything at all like his or even like a guitar neck but I can always use file dust as fire starter powder and the neck wood in the wood stove this winter. So I might actually try it.
