You have bad settings.

Sony A95L is the worst tv ever with respect to audio. The *audio is all over the place regardless of anything you do,* even if you use a Sony soundbar it doesn't help, randomly goes up and down.

By the way brother no A95M coming, be prepared to get a MiniLED if you want to compare a Sony. It's either going to be the Bravia 10 which only comes in 85" and 98" size lol, or their MLA Oled which I assume will be the successor of the Bravia 8 and A80L. This all means that Samsung is the only brand left offering QD Oled. Man I can't do anything else than QD Oled, let's see how close Tandem will get in terms of color but I don't have great expectations for LG until they get a entirely new Technology.

I came from the Pioneer Kuro world, and finally bought a Sony A90J OLED about 4 years ago. The A90J is a really good tv, but it never wowed me like the Pioneers did - other than the specular highlights maybe. I certainly do miss certain PQ aspects of my old Pioneers. What’s the absolute best OLED out there today? Size is irrelevant to me, I just want the absolute best blacks, contrast, specular highlights and overall PQ. I heard the Sony A95K was touted as the best Sony OLED ever, however, I also hear there’s problems with raised black levels? Any advice would be most appreciated!

Sounds as though you have more money than brains .please give us a good reason why anyone would have 2 tv's. Sounds as though you have no constructive hobbies. Not everybody uses the common sense God gave them.

it looks like u didn't calibrate the s90d very well or u dont know how to calibrate i understand . because i have the g4 and the S90C and i prefer the s90c screen when i game the colors pop more u pop smoke

I agree with your assessments on the a95L. I definitely feel like the television is too tame color wise. I have also noticed the other thing where the details aren’t always consistent with reality creation turned on (even when you set it to a particular number). Will probably be headed back to Samsung or LG this year. I also agree that for gaming it’s “Good”, but not at the same level as Samsung or LG. A lot of that has to do with Sony holding the set wayyyy back.

Anyone have any thoughts about the dead power board issue that the guy commented below. Does anyone know if this tvs dying power board is a real known issue or if it has been fixed in newer versions? Any imput is appreciated.

Personally speaking, I’m of the opinion that anyone buying these high end TVs ($3000+), aren’t dependent on their speakers for the audio. Minimally, they have a very nice sound bar or like myself, full 7.1/7.2 or bigger home theater setups.

From a Cost perspective the S90D is the overall winner. It is 99% the TV that the A95L and G4 is at a FRACTION of the cost. I would rank the G4 2nd here and A95L is dead last for me cost wise. A 77 inch A95L @ $5K is just plain ridiculous. You can buy 2 count em, 2 S90D's for the price of one A95L....

LG got rid of MLA because it's expensive to produce and they didnt need to include it to push out a sufficient upgrade over the G4. G6 probably will being back MLA for another yearly jump.

I would prefer to stick with 77inches for fair comparison between the mighty s95f and the sexy G5, for Panasonic they have three problems: We already have the sharpness with LG We already have the vibrancy with Samsung We already have the best color science and audio(with less watts) with Sony

Absolutely LOVE my 65" G4!!!! Still blown away on the brightness of this OLED TV. Had to turn it down to 80% and the color to 34% just to keep it from burning my eyes. Also, you can adjust this TV more than the others to perfectly fit your own eyes. The G4 is absolutely the best OVERALL TV on the planet in my opinion. It does everything so-o-o-o-o-o great. And the fact that I saved $1,100.00 on black Friday made it a steal!

Sony has the correct colors LG and Samsung has more vivid colors you might like that more and that's ok. Sony and Samsung are using the same panel every thing should be the same i would have got rid of the LG G4 but all of the tvs are great.

My 77" S90D was delivered on October 30th 2024, and died exactly 60 days later, (30 days past Best Buy's return deadline). It was a dead power board which is a very well known, well documented issue with this model. Fortunately, the tv was covered under Samsung's warranty, so they sent a repair company out at no charge. In less than 20 minutes, they gently removed the tv from my bedroom wall, swapped out the dead power board with the newer, updated power board, and reinstalled the tv back on to my wall. The entire process was smooth, quick and stress free. Now good for 100,000+ hours of viewing time. If I could do it all over again, I absolutely would. I love this tv and absolutely recommend it to anyone who appreciates the bright, colorful quantum dot technology. The picture quality is insane! Now if we can get Samsung to add QD technology to the 83" size then we will be making progress. Would love to have an 83" QD-OLED for my bright living room.

You don't need A95L, G4, G5 and S90D and S95F. You are burning away way too much money. Your channel is way too small to reimburse any of those investments. You'd need at least 200k Subscribers and 50k solid clicks on each video. As a regular guy stick with one TV and one brand. There is no 83" QD Oled coming this year so no reason to wait for a 83" A95M.

Curious I have the c3 77 and watching aquaman 1, avatar 1, Guardians of the galaxy 1 the neons and glows just seem to lack in filmmaker mode and even cinema home at times.. but vivid looks fantastic! Until it gets back to normal scenes in the sun😅 any recommendations to how I can make those neons have more punch in cinema home? Compared to newer movies aquaman 2 ect in the glows and neons are not lacking in cinema home whatsoever!

I have no idea about this clarity/sharpness comparison… I had the G4 and a Bravia 8 and I immediately thought the Sony had better sharpness processing without looking over processed when you bump those settings higher. Try going up to 30 sharpness on the G4 and that sharpness filter looks ugly AF. I don’t care too much about higher peak brightness at this point - not something that I find is an issue at this point in tv tech. There are other more important things to look for.

@ogcod - Did your two A95L’s arrive with the screen coating rubbed off in top corners. My two 65” A95L’s did so I returned both of them. Apart from the screen coating shenanigans its an excellent TV. Only small gripes is that Sony are treating their European customers as second class citizens as we are two firmwares behind. Also HDMI auto switching with the Xbox Series X only works if you wake up the TV with the Xbox. Also was not to happy on the two 4K120 ports. However there are workarounds with buying a Sony soundbar, HDMI switch, AV receiver. Anyway was thinking about still buying the 77” A95L instead but think I will hold onto the cash and wait for the 2025 TV reviews. Even on discount the price difference from A95L 65” to 77” in a huge 2000€ more and I dont think I will take a the risk with the screen coating defects at a cost of 5000€.

“Sony’s look, color science, and processing.” - you realize Sony makes a majority of all camera sensors that film the content we watch? Even if they didn’t make the whole camera itself, they know the sensor. Same thing for music recording and capture. Oh yeah, and they know something about the specifications of the formats too. I’m all good with how LGs look, but it’s made to win the brightness arms race. If you wanna crank it up, and then literally see ABL kick in. Should have skipped to the middle: “for gaming.” ✌🏿 Dude needs to stop pretending like he has an understanding for broader audience. You like the Sony for its sounds…? Build? What?!? I wanted to want a Samsung S95D, but the lack of Dolby Vision matters. There’s a lot of content out there which supports Dolby Vision on every streaming service and blu ray movies. If you’re not watching content from such high quality sources, then why would you be looking at a TV at this end?

I get the love for the G5 and it will be an amazing TV, but few people are talking about the F Version of the Samsung QD OLEDS coming out. I think both the S90 and S95 F versions are going to rock! Both will have a new processor and both appear to have the 4th generation QD OLED panel. ME being a gamer, the Samsung's are simply better gaming TV's than the LG's and Sony with only 2 of 2.1 HDMI ports...

With these Sony fan boys. Years of Trinitron CRTs and front projectors they won't let go. So many people have moved on from Sony.

If the audio wasn't broken on my S90c, I'd be perfectly fine with keeping my S90c for a few more years. Especially now that I know the Service Menu hacks.

The G5 will hopefully be that happy medium between an LG and Samsung.

I don't trust Scamsung at all. And they are being even scummier than usual this yr. They literally aren't going to tell you what you are buying so they can't be sued. That means even more panel lottery. They also have over agressive dimming. Which I fixed in the Service Menu. If

I low key regret returning my LG G4 83. Especially since I got it for $4,400 retail and I doubt that price will ever come back. But I just couldn't justify the $4,800 as long as I have the S90c 77 inch. Which still looks great and I figured out how to use the Service Menu. With that said the TV Audio doesn't work anymore (only works with my Soundbar) so this summer I hope to do a warranty exchange for a new TV.
