Thanks for the tips. I live in Florida zone 10a I have always started my carrots using a thin wet paper towel and covering them with a thin layer of seed germination soil water and cover with some thick black plastic to keep the soil moist until the seeds germinate. This has always worked for me 💯 of the time. The soil stays moist.

These are so messy and can take over whole neighborhoods😂 do not plant these 😂.
@lindagonzalez97745 күн бұрын
Plant some plants. Let them bloom, cover each bloom with a small fruit bag and let it go to seed. I know it’s not the same as buying bulk. But, you can get it to spread further without buying more plants if you can be patient.

It's been really hard to get perennial peanut seeds in the past few years. Have there been any laws that you're aware of that keep the seeds from being sold?
@flgardening81312 күн бұрын
It has been!!! The USDA is restricting the importation and sale of the seed for some reason
@emmelsmusic7912 күн бұрын
@flgardening813 I'm glad I got a decent sized pack a few years back. I was trying to seed my yard away from lawn grass and let perennial peanut take over. It took about 2 years to show and I wanted to reseed the backyard because I put most of it in the front but it's been darn near impossible to get any more seed. I'll tell you what though, the butterflies and the bees love my yard!!

its rated for zones 10-12. You are probably 9a or 9b? Maybe try putting it on a south side wall, or have a nice big blanket for nights like tonight!

🤨 Okay, you got me with this one. A Saba nut? Will that grow up here in citrus county?

The saba tree is rated for zones 10-12 so it might be a stretch. You are probably 9a or 9b? Maybe try putting it on a south side wall, or have a nice big blanket lol

I'm really glad to find you! 🦩There are a lot of good gardening channels, but I'm in South Florida, & lots of them have recommendations that just won't apply here! Fellow Everglades tomato fan here. Garden On! 🍃🍀🍃

Love Everglades tomatoes! Those volunteers do have a way of popping up where you don't want them to be. Prepare to transplant!😊

I quit using bone meal because I find it draws fire ants to my garden. Also carrots are a host plant for the black swallowtail butterflu, so I am happy to see those caterpillars - I don't consider them a pest.

In NW Fla. Everglades tomato grow literally like weed. I get too many voluteers! My "heat tollerant" tomatoes always die in the early summer from the heat. I will try shade cloth next year.
@jeaniebeanie3350Ай бұрын
lol. Everglades tomatoes have the been the hardest for me. I kill then pretty quickly. All my other tomatoes have done well. I’m in Cape Coral so the heat this far south in the state has made it challenging for me to figure out exactly when to start seeds and / or direct sow.

Everglades tomatoes are a life changer. I bought one plant from a nursery 5 years ago and have never needed to worry about them again. The plant usually dies back in the summer heat/humidity, rip it up, and then just quickly after you’ll see volunteers popping up

For more even bubbling consider long rectangular air stones. You can elevate them with a brick so they spray the surface well.
