I’m not earning for life with photography, and I was glad I bumped into this video as my hobby photography needed a workflow refinement. Some things as software engineer I got inspired on my own, and was glad to see the confirmation of the so called state machine: flash cards,L >moving unsorted data to big capacity drive > cleaning up data on flash drive > working within HDD to have collection de-cluttered + presorted. I had issues with keeping duplicates so I appreciate mentioning software that can help me with this. Right now I deal with SSD only on my Mac so I’ll be looking towards introducing an in between step of having hdd “prep kitchen” before getting to Lightroom editing. Archiving and data redundancy mechanisms is probably the steps I would skip in my hobby as I don’t have this high bar of quality and risk management in it and most of the time I’d introduce hdd archive revisits to shrink it down before uploading to iCloud / Dropbox Amazing video

I found your video because I am having the exact same problems! Especially with one and not only is it the inconsistency, but this certain one doesn’t fire every single time too! It is driving me crazy and it is making my work hard. Was hoping to come on here and find a solution.

Hi Travis - a little late to your video but really appreciate you taking the time to show us what goes on behind the scenes. Your use of the sunbounce panel for the bottom fill is a great idea! It is a much sturdier set up than just using a regular reflector. It looks like you are using the zebra pattern. Did you have any particular reason for using the zebra versus sliver or white? I am assuming that you may have wanted warmer skin tones. Thanks again for posting the video!

Godox V850ii good for wedding photography?? Anwser please

I would go with the new, Godox V1 for weddings. This flash is manual only, so not so great for events (unless you are a master of using manual flash in dynamic situations). Now-a-days, ETTL is so good, that it pretty much works now without issue. So, the V1 is the best choice now.

2 Questions: A: Are the images only getting transferred to the Canon App on the mobile device? or are they automatically getting saved to the mobile device also? B: I really liked this seamless & quick transfer to the mobile device. Are there any other cameras that you can recommend for similar effortless transfer (and saved) to the mobile device? Thanks in advance.

Hi Travis, do you delete your raw photographs after a wedding is delivered or do you keep the raw files for ever?
@travisharrisphotography
@travisharrisphotography Жыл бұрын
So what I do is I export all of the delivered wedding images of the clients into its own catalog file which will go on a permanent Archive Drive that's a part of my workflow and then I set a reminder for 3 months after everything has been delivered and then all the while files are removed from the main drive after 3 months but the portion of files that are delivered to the client will remain archives forever

PROBLEM SOLVED!!!!!! I finally figured out that the fault lies with the flash tube. Once i changed the bulb the problem disappeared. I am now recording the number of shots and at what power outage they were fired at and if it happens again i will be taking it up with Profoto.

Yeah, I ended up selling off all my profoto gear during the pandemic and went godox. I see now that profoto is more about marketing than anything else. Lol. My b10s also had this issue. So glad to be rid of it all. Zero issues now 3 years later with godox. Very happy.

I have the same problem on 6 our of 6 heads I've tested. It seems to be unique to b1x (maybe b1 too but I haven't tested). What you see is the +/- 0.2 stop variation which is what Profoto will tell you is normal but if you look at the specs they write +/- 1/20th of a stop which is +/-0.05. This is a big problem and I don't think Profoto are addressing it. What was the resolution?

@@travisharrisphotography I work in a trial law firm and would say that I'm fairly successful however I just can't bring myself to pay for profoto gear. They appear to be less powerful than godox and the bulb is fully recessed so when it fails the unit needs to be sent back to have the bulb fixed or repaired. They're light modifiers are hundreds of dollars and their remote trigger is $400 bucks. I always used to think that Apple was the only one that charged ridiculous prices that people pay for because of marketing. If you look at head to head comparisons of that gear to all the other flash units that are out there you immediately come to the conclusion that it's all over priced. I am a very fair and objective person but you just can't justify the cost of these things in my opinion.

@@travisharrisphotography No strobe or flash is perfect but the pricing of the Godox AD 600 Pro and the Godox AD 1200 are amazing. When you buy a Rolls-Royce it's handmade and the craftsmanship is absolutely exceptional. Profoto doesn’t even manufacture any of their own products. They also say we engage in what creates value for photographers. How does charging 4 times the value of something manufactured by others create value for photographers? Sorry but in my opinion I am not interested in Profoto.

Travis, nice explanation of your setup. Is it common with the corporate headshots to post edit the female faces (8:01), but not do any touch-up to their arms? (freckles, etc.) Also, does your assistant help to notice flaws like the one in the last shot where the lady's white jacket arm (8:35) on the right is folded & bent out of shape? I love the drop-off in light on the background Thanks!
