Great pack. My only criticism is that I wish there was an option to extend the top straps that are connected to the two buckles. This way, you can extend the capacity of the main compartment if you really need to. The straps are a fixed length and are stitched on, and the buckles can not be removed. On the other hand, it provides a very solid and sturdy build. As it stands, the top flap folds 2.5 times before you can close the buckles. A tight one fold closure would be adequate tbh and would provide a decent amount of extra capacity.

Greetings from Denmark. I like your channel very down to earth, while still being very informative. Durability showing shouldn't be a problem. Savotta has a video with them literally flinging a Jääkäri S stuffed with wooden logs. Through the air, with a trebuchet. The bag doesn't care (ofc). Contest idea. Maybe we could show a mod we'd done to our backpacks or other similar gear.

My father in Finland used to carry all his essentials in a leather satchel ( I hope that is the right word). So I bought this 15 liter Kahakka. I think he would love it for what he used to carry unless he would have got corrupted by the times that we live in today. I need to first spend some time exploring it before I commit it to my bush duties. I am loving this pack. I wanted a small one like this but it is actually quite massive. I think I could get 40 liter use out of this if I wanted. So it's back to the Karjalan metsän temppuja Kanadan puolella.

Unless I have missed it somewhere in your videos or comments I got a new tip for you. Try putting a G-hook at the end of each of the shoulderpads 1” webbing (the end you would use to tighten the straps) to any of the Savotta packs. The endloop on the straps act as a stop for the G-hooks as well. I own the Jääkääri M, but assume it works equally great on the new Kahakkal. Then use the Askare packs two “top” loops at the back (just as you would fastening it to the back of the backpack). Then you got a quick two connection chest pack whenever you want. No extra work or weight except the two G-hooks which you can leave on. I use this setup for my camera gear. BTW I own the Askare and love it immensely. Perfect to wear as a cross body bag. I use it as such for work carrying my latops and I have used it daily for 6 weeks this summer travelling California and Alaska by car visiting the most beautiful and fantastic places. Its a must have.

@@Tim_Keys You could also put a short velcro strap keeper in the end loop to roll all up when the G hooks are not in use. Thus avoiding the metal hooks to slap around. This also functions as additional stop.

Since the pockets on the sides are 3 liters (at least according to your demonstration), this actually may be more like a 31 liter pack. So which would you recommend more for a 2-day setup, this pack or the Jääkäri M?
@Tim_Keys
@Tim_Keys 17 күн бұрын
Yes 31 is more correct, but I think the open top and folding design keeps it from being officially counted. Choice between Jääkäri M and Kahakka 25? It depends on how far you travel and how much weight. If you are just going a short walk from the car to a campsite with light to medium weight, Kahakka. If you are traveling over terrain or going longer distance, or with heavier weight, Jääkäri

I really enjoyed your review and videos! Nice work. This bag has my interest for sure. I plan on using it daily for my work, I am in the Canadian Coast Guard and my job has lots of remote sites/helicopter/boating/driving/ hiking in and out in all 4 seasons up here in the PNW in BC, while biking, then day hikes on the weekends and exploring with the family. Also winter use up in Northern BC and Alberta. Anyways this 25l seems to check so many boxes for me!!Average load would be 20 lbs and up to 40 plus lbs at some points. I am worried about how it may fit. How adjustable and comfortable have you found this pack? I am 6’2” 185 lbs so in your opinion do you think this pack would be too short? Thanks for the info! Cheers from Canada!

Ahoy ye pirate of puddles! Sorry, the army wouldn't forgive me if I let that one go. For your size I believe it would fit just fine, I have seen some talk of bigger folks having no problems at all. As for the weight, 20 lbs will feel great. At that weight the padding actually forms to your body more and makes it even more comfortable than 10 lbs. But getting close to 40 lbs is something I have not done yet, I can't give you a solid answer there

put it though a 3 day work load and really show how crazy tuff Savotta bags are. and the contest is ez. load the pack with a few things and have people guess whats inside or the full weight of the bag. That way everyone can enter bc going out taking pic ect is hard bc alot of people work or have a family and they might not have the time to get out when you are doing the contest or have you know a phone or camera to take a good picture or live close to somewhere that would be photo winning. And then people cheat with ai ect. and use stuff you have use in ur videos so people gotta go watch a few to get an idea on what it may be or the weight. And have a keyword at the end of the video to put in the comment so its easy on you to the filter out the comments.

I bought a second Hatka for days out in the woods with my girlfriend. Equipped with the Keikka harness, 2x2 bags and elastic cord of course. Thus we can have dinner and coffee in the woods and sleep in our hammocks afterwards. This seems to be a better solution instead of carrying one of my bigger big Jääkäri M or L rucks. And I bought the Kukkaro purse. Made an EDC out of it. You influenced my buyings quite a lot. Many greetings, Stefan 🎉🎉🎉

Thank you friend. And yes I would love to call the roofers back in and give them the task of cleaning up, but folks in this country don't like to raise issues too much. It's a holdover mentality from their days behind the Iron Curtain. Stay quiet and fix it yourself. The mentality is slowly disappearing with time but there are a lot of these kinds of issues that they are still dealing with to this day. It's incredibly sad to see people still afraid when the monster died a long time ago.

You could use a simple webbing strap with 2 G-Hooks as a minimalist shoulder strap which avoid permanent buckles attached to the askare when not in use - and with that you could attach 1 G-Hook at the top and 1 on the side - so hip bag to shoulder bag to sling bag within seconds. At least that's how i use my Askare ;-)

Not gonna lie, I found this channel because I found r/Savotta and then found your post about the giveaway in top posts of all time and I just really badly wanted to signup for the giveaway as I've been eyeing for the Savotta backpacks but haven't been able to invest in one. So my input is that please make it such that it's possible to enter without pre-owning the Savotta stuff. But I fully understand that you want to give this away as a thank you to the community. And from that viewpoint I'd just get a list of people from YT subscribers (or better yet, people who have been commenting on your previous YT vids) or from Reddit posters in Savotta communities. And somehow get a cutoff in timeline there that you only include people before the giveaway posts to exclude people who got lured in only recently by your giveaway (like myself :)). So something like a simple "drop a comment to enter" but adding a condition that only people who have commented on your vids already earlier or posted in subreddits earlier are eligable to enter and you'd then manually verify that after the draw. That'd be how I'd do it if I was in your shoes.
