Best ad varusteleka could ask for. And that is not a bad thing.

Varusteleka really is the best milsurp store out there, not just in Europe but globally. It's what americana pipe dream and all the others strive to be. I went to their original store like.... 17 years ago? and it was this little room in some random forgotten location. Hope to go to the big store next summer if I go back to Finland.

I'm hoping to get up there and visit for Brutality this winter, it would be awesome to see the shop. And one person up there said there's a beverage waiting for me at Sotima, so I can't just leave it on the counter ya know?

I found them, after i found savotta on youtube, and had to have one of their packs. Now i keep a constant tab open to check out the shop regularly.

Same here my friend. Just so I don't have to log in or clear cookies I keep a separate browser on my phone that stays logged in to Varusteleka and Savotta. Everything else is temporarily open on a browser wiped often

Haha hello Tim, good to hear from you. I recieved their finnish canteen and some bunch of other things. Everything is absolutely perfect, especially their Särmä T1 merino wool t-shits... Absolutey love it and very cheap for the quality offered. Thanks to you by the way, those advices are very practical (as for the bags too, you made me buy the Askare haha). Glad to hear you again. Greetings from Brest, France. L

I'm very glad it all worked out great for you too, and I'm glad I could help. As for Finnish canteens I just bought 2 more an hour ago haha

@@Tim_KeysRegarding the canteens, they are of course handy also because they fit the small side pockets in a Jääkäri. Which is why I use them. But there’s actually a smaller, 0,65 liter version of the canteen, which I often use when my Jääkäri is quite full and it’s too hard to put it back in the small pocket while walking. Unfortunately it’s not sold at Leka.

Now that is something I need to look into, seems perfect size and very handy for a smaller option. I'm writing that down right now

Sometimes you just gotta jump on stuff. I have a lot of useful gear on hold, way down on the shopping list, just to make sure the low-stock items are closer to the top

I love the april fools products. 😄

They really dont do much surplus now a days, mostly due to the fact that surplus is really scarce in 2024. There used to be a whole bunch of surplus on their selection but now its just mostly their own products. Still mostly great producs and if not, they leave honest reviews up on their site even if negative.
@Tim_Keys22 күн бұрын
Supply in surplus has taken a major hit since covid and now the war in Ukraine. Add in all the craziness of the world right now, and there just ain't no surplus of surplus anymore They still have a lot of surplus to choose from, just not as much as we would like. But that's a problem I see with almost all army shops these days.

@@Tim_Keys Yeah its not exactly a Varusteleka issue, I've just been a customer since like 2010 so I'm a bit jaded :D

I came here to comment same. I've been customer since ~2010 aswell and noticed the shift from surplus to Varusteleka's own product lines and more expensive brands. They used to sell e.g. lots of Mil-Tec which cannot be found in their catalog atm. Also some special items like the Savotta straps and G-hooks that I've used a lot in my own projects have become really expensive there so that I have to consider other options.

It's a key part of my winter survival in Central Europe, it gets super cold out here. For years I sucked with polyester until the articles on Varusteleka convinced me I was being unreasonably afraid of taking care of wool. Now I am smooth sailing every day built up from a Särmä TST L2 base thermal set up through some recommended layers and life is actually comfortable. Sometimes you have to speak idiot to me to get me to understand, and they all speak a decent level of basic infantryman. And they wouldn't mind when I take notes with crayons
