This is awesome !! My dad used to drive this MF130. During 25 years, the tractor did not drive because there is a "clic-clic-clic" sound coming from the engine, and no one could check what it was. Finally now in September 2024, someone gave me a contact of someone willing to restore the tractor. I am so happy to be able to soon drive this MF130 !

Hi, great videos i have just aquired a massey 30 which looks very similar to your 25 and 130. I am not practically mechanical but prepared to have a go,is the back end the same on all three tractors. I have an oil leak dripping on the rear wheels and also dripping off the bottom link arm where it is attached right handside as you look from the rear .Are the parts the same as the 25 oil seals etc. Regards Rob
@tractionengine11
@tractionengine11 6 ай бұрын
Hi Rob, The back end is virtually the same only major differences is the type of brakes used on each. The oil leak dripping on the rear wheels is from a leaking hub seal. The oil from the bottom link arm is usually the pin has worked loose and allowing transmission oil to leak out. Oil seals, bearings etc are the same on both. On mine I’ve had the seals matched at a bearing/seal supplier Many Thanks

What cooled the head?
@tractionengine11
@tractionengine11 6 ай бұрын
On earlier engines a small belt driven cooling fan but on the later type like this one it relies on heat dissipation from the cylinder head and the 2-stroke oil to maintain a reasonable working temperature

Hi, can you tell me how we overhaul the brakes on the tractor, I have an exact match to yours, I inherited the tractor from my father, but there are no brakes that work anymore, thanks in advance for your answers. Best regards Johnny vetås
@tractionengine11
@tractionengine11 Жыл бұрын
It’s a fairly simple job Most awkward part is sourcing new pads The brake housings are bolted to the axles by two bolts one top one bottom Once removed there are two pads one on either side and secured by clips on the back It’s good practice to clean any corrosion of the faces where the pads sit A lot of the trouble with 130 brakes is the brake disc can not move freely on the half shaft so ensure it hasn’t seized on the shaft other wise one brake pad will do all the work To adjust the brakes i jack the back end Up and screw the adjusters until the wheel locks and then a couple of turns back until it spins freely then repeat for the other side Hope this helps Best of luck

25 is an awesome tractor. I have a Massey 25 and my son also has one in upstate New York. I'm restoring my one right now. It's impossible to find parts here in the states for them, I spent the last 15 years trying to find the hood emblem Which is the same as the 825 tractor, unfortunately no luck. I posted a picture of mine on yesterday's tractors about 20 years ago. Keep up the good work love video.

Can you tell me please does the massey ferguson 25 give a lot of trouble. that's what I have heard Is it true
@denisomeara6140
@denisomeara6140 Жыл бұрын
@@annamaydonegan1708 I don't think I've had any major problems. Just like any other piece of farm equipment, if they're properly maintained there's little tractors last forever. they do smoke quite a bit I think it's the low compression it doesn't burn the fuel as efficiently, So that that was mean they are little hard to start but they do start just fine in the cold weather if you use the glow plug in the air intake. I do think the brakes could have been designed a little better but if you are experienced with tractors You already know brakes on a tractor are not for stopping the tractor they're for holding it while you change gears etc.

Which engine do you think is better? I am writing from Poland. I do not know how they gave the engine but I noticed 4 cylinder 30 km and 3 cylinder 45 km. This 3-cylinder is well-known in Poland because we had mf 255 on our market and also produced Ursus 3512, which were based on the mf 255. And also the Ursus 360 3p was fitted with this engine. But is this 30 km powerful enough?
