The BMW X5 M gets a refresh for the 2024 model year, with lots of new goodies under the hood. The big news is the all new S68 engine, replacing the outgoing S63. It's a 4.4L Twin-Turbo V8 mild-hybrid that makes 617-hp and 553 lb-ft of torque (at least on paper). The X5 M is available in competition form only for 2024, with xDrive and a ZF-sourced 8-speed automatic transmission being standard as well. The transmission has been updated, with the three lowest gears clustered tightly together, and widening up for five through eight. Along with performance, this luxury crossover provides space for the family and tons of great creature comforts, but you'll have to go well over the $120,000 starting price in order to get all those luxury features. Let's go ahead and take a look.
