when you were talking about manually unloading in Pyro. Did you mean that you would have to remove your bags for the mole and send them down the elevator to sell the Ore? or were you talking about the refined ore that is already in scu cases?

UPDATE: For whatever reason in 4.0 you cannot sell minables directly to outposts from the ROC. You will have to put you items into a container and lower that into the cargo elevator to be able to sell them. Another weird change that happened with the move to preview, but can be worked around.

OK this is not about 4.0. You can not buy the Pembroke. It was removed from shops. Only way to get it is find it in the verse or pay cash. You are a lier and this is not OK to re-upload a old video. Even it what changed was min.

From a solo miner perspective I think you're largely spot on, although I suppose with the refiner location layout being quicker to get to that may slightly offset some of the travel time. It doesn't hurt to work out stealth builds but a Prospector still has a higher profile than a Vulture and it won't matter at all with a Mole. Keep things powered down, always be prepared with a jump point to go to if you see trouble, etc. Largely, though, you may want to state this is from a fairly solo perspective. If you're running with an escort you can potentially mine with a tad more ease of mind with your escort hopefully taking out the pirates, plus they can scout ahead for good rocks for you to start on next. Not necessarily the most exciting gameplay for an escort, though, but at least Pyro is more likely to give them some action than Stanton. The only other issue going multi-player is splitting the profit, though, and for some of the reasons you already noted it's likely more efficient (for now, anyway) to solo mine in Stanton than to keep losing that money to either the 50% cut, paying escorts, or just from getting pirated (yeah, yeah, you could lose it to bugs, too, and since you have it for longer while in Pyro you may even have a higher chance of a bug taking it, but really I don't care to count that for now, better to talk about the gameplay instead.) So, yeah, Stanton mining (and salvaging) it is for me now until they either add more refineries/stations in Stanton or I get my Arrastra. :D

I can't even figure out how to scan the rock. I can enter mining mode, but I don't have a the scanner for the rock. Any suggestions?

haven't been on 4.0 yet but as a (value) miner, I started only refining quantinium, and just selling all other ores right away... made more that way with immediate returns and more mining time/trips, not having to wait and then do cargo runs all the time. The hidden asteroid belt was my go to area, very dense and found quite a lot of quant, and never getting found by a single soul getting to mine in absolute peace, since getting there was all about dropping out of warp at the right time the odds of being found were pretty astronomical.

IDK, I like the longer distance. It makes it actually feel like a whole new system. I don't think we should be complaining about 3-4 minute QT times. I think the entire universe should be pretty spread out. If you want the nice luxury, then you will have to travel there. I think its a classic people have had the same thing for the last 8 years, and they are not willing to accept the change.

Curious mining question. and I apologize this is so late. I keep having this consistent mining bug where I can't scan (or mine) the rocks I find on various planets, it doesn't seem to be due to any loadout or specific planet. is there an easy way to fix this? thanks!

It's all about how you approach mining in Pyro. Getting away from the common jump paths and approaches, as well as hostile areas. Once the bags can be used on the grids, we can take our ore to distant refinery stations or even Stanton. Profite may or may not be better, but it will be more fun!!

The devs haven't even got off their sofa's yet, so this is nonsense, the build is a REVIEW build....a Stop-Gap, and no one, unless ignorant mines in Pyro......well except a dumb Noob probably. Total nonsense, stop wasting peoples time.

Pretty much as predicted - why bother with Pyro? What Pyro offers is the ability to remove problem players from Stanton for me. Pyro also becomes suspect with the small volumes the Prospector & Mole offer. It just isnt worthwhile.

You forgot the server and other errors that will make your efforts obsolete!

"Can mining be saved?" Such 3.0 dimensional thinking. We're in 4.0, babayyy. The update that persistence between hotfixes hits ores, we start saving.

The one thing I don't like right now is there is a lot more risk to someone trying to make a living in pyro than to someone who just wants to cause chaos in pyro. If you want to go around blowing random people up, you should have the same amount of skin in the game.

Not even. Cutty black is most versitale in use, best landing gear, multiple entrances. Then it'll be fatlancer because it almost as good as cutty but also can fit 2 ursas with no issues. Then it'll be zeus because it's good but you can never power it up fully, even with best powerplants, then it's spirit cause meh. Raft is for masochists.

I couldn't tell from the screen (old eyes, lol) and maybe i missed you saying it...but besides "Helix in the front Hoffs in the back"...what are your setups for the modules? I thought I saw a Focus 3 on one of the Hoffs.

As for the power from Life Support, it actually does not matter at the moment as Engineering isnt in. Life support isnt actually in so you dont need the power there, once engineering is in though, different story of course

There are better places to look for exact ship data. Also not to confuse new players because, yes, Freelancer is old but it has not had its full release 'gold pass' upgrade yet, which it surely will, some day.... ಠ_ಠ Its turret is 2 x Size 3 not 2 x S2 and has 1.2 M QFC. Your logic for the sunfire is slightly wrong. While being aware of the stage 1 and 2 acceleration is important for long distances having a higher top speed is more important than higher acceleration. In Stanton the sunfire might be better but in Pyro where the distances are greater you want the highest combo of top speed and accelerations. Stage 1 determines how fast you can get to stage 2 and how close to an object you start deceleration. Stage 2 determines how fast you reach top speed. Over long distances a higher max speed is going to beat higher stage 2 acceleration which is why even the stock drive is quite a bit better than the sunfire in the mole

Thanks for heads up on exiting from the center turret... anything to offset single mining Mole bugs is a win. Btw, no need to "catch" the ladder near the end as you'll only suffer minor hit to health for just dropping...sometime 2-3% but most often nothing.
