I enjoyed the movie but absolutely loved it for introducing the French band La Femme to me in the credits song. Bravo!!!!

Liked this movie a lot, maybe because I am Italian and grew up studying Dante all the time. I also like The Pyramid, sometimes I come back to rewatch it. They have the same feeling.

This is an excellent analysis of what is one of the creepiest supernatural/ horror films I've ever seen. If you haven't watched it, it's a "Must See".

Ah the beautiful Perdita Rose Weeks, aka HIGGINS in the hit series MAGNUM PI. Rockin tight little body. I believe her real husband is Jay Hernandez aka MAGNUM. As above So Below is a real crazy movie.

I fell asleep watching this movie, something I never do, didn’t wake up, I’m a light sleeper and I watched it at mid day. It’s just boring af and I might rather watch paint dry than look at this sleep deprived low blood sugar looking mf with the fear factor of a fnaf jumpscare and a swarm of butterflies attempt to be mildly more threatening than a frying pan cooking bacon with oil on the max temperature

18:57 Also, the rock were the guy was sitting, could be just a rock, but it's said that Dante got his idea for the Divine Comedy while sitting on a rock that was in view of the side of the Florence Cathedral. The rock is still there.

There was something simple in this relatively small movie, fixing the bell tower, that for some reason really resonated with me when I first saw it. No pun intended. I guess there was a genuine curiosity and desire to improve the world that reminded me of my childhood. It was like when you would look up to the "big kids" and wanted to be like them.

Don't agree with "The Disney route" theory. Power from within can be a genuine approach.

Interestingly there is actually another scene at the end of the movie, where the three survivors end up crawling through a manhole and exiting into Paris. An interesting note is that when they crawl out the camera’s perspective is upside down. At the end of inferno when Dante and Virgil exit hell they end up on the southern hemisphere and at the foot of mount purgatory, which leads into Dante’s purgatorio. So is this implying that the characters have entered purgatory and now have a chance to travel through purgatory and enter Heaven?

also, Vygil is really important in the Divine comedie - la Taupe could be portraying the role of the Guide, which Dante needed to go trough hell

I think the reason they didnt explore the other characters sins was because its still meant to be a found footage film. If all the characters were explained in detail then that would compromise the feeling of found footage.

I didn't like Scarlett very much but one thing that I really enjoyed in the movie was when Scarlett was making her back and forth to return the stone, she really hit those staute thingz like it was a game. It's the thing that we all wished for the main character to do, to fight back.

I love how he's explaining the movie incredibly well in a serious manner, but when "Disney" stuff happens he also calls it out. I always loved this movie and had no idea it had such direct inspiration from that book. This makes me even more confused as to why it seems so hated. Thanks for making me appreciate it even more.
