That’s nice. Beats most of the other shades. I got one that’s manual and it’s split at 50% point. Thus the people in the back can control their sunlight by manually opening and closing their shade while the people in front can control theirs albeit manual. Nice presentation.

How I value products on KZbin. 1. Did you spend your own money ? 2. Have you had it for at least a year ? 3. If the words “Honest Review” are in the description you’re just hawkin products to me. 4. And your the reason why they have to mark-up the product to get their money back from all the “honest reviews.”

So, you need to spend $600 and your time on something that should have been standard on a $50k car? or settled on a manual cover that Tesla or aftermarket offering?
@TeslaModelYdaho

It would have been great if Tesla had this as a factory installed option, or it just came standard, but that’s the way it goes I guess. I used to get a free cup of ranch with my buffalo wings. Now it’s weighed and added to my tab. Tesla will likely say our roof is tinted tempered glass that blocks the suns rays, but it still gets pretty hot in direct sunlight.

Fitment could've been a little bit better, but I would definitely consider getting one for my Model Y. It seems decently easy to install, also. I currently have those foldable shades which helps with the sun, but when I have the windows down the shades starts buffeting really bad from the wind and I feel like they're going to fly off. How are the retractable shades when it's closed and your windows are open? Does the shade part shake a lot from the wind?
@TeslaModelYdaho
@TeslaModelYdaho 6 күн бұрын
Great questions, and something I didn't even think about...My thinking is that the brackets in the front go pretty far underneath the headliner, so I dont think there is any real chance of the assembly coming down, but I do wonder if it might vibrate from the buffeting. I will test it out and drop a video here of the results.

I also had the trifold mattress from my camping video - kzbin.info/www/bejne/mJyUfIeoepyFoMU The main reason I like this mattress better is the ability to store it in the car. The trifold took up too much room. Comfort wise, the trifold might be a slightly more comfortable.

is there any structure near the head/pillow area as it extends over the rear footwell to keep it from falling in if you put weight on it?
@TeslaModelYdaho
@TeslaModelYdaho 13 күн бұрын
Good question. I reset everything up and did a test. If the front seats are moved forward, there is a decent gap, and the very front of the mattress will bow down a bit. Nothing that will crash you forward, but it does tip a bit. If you get the mattress adjusted and move the front seats back to the edge of the mattress, it limits this quite a bit. Plus, unless your head weights 50lbs, it really doesn’t effect the laying down pose. Thanks for the comment. Hopefully this helped.

Same issue with mine, thanks for the video of taking it apart. I was able to let the center valve bit to come out and then flatten the rubber gasket with my finger, re-installed it and it sealed fine. So possibly for any others; try that first before buying the part to save you a few bucks. Also of course after fixing that it started leaking around the valve stem, so now I have to take that apart to check and fix the packing. <roll eyes>

Just did 3 out of 6 21" uberturbines. Took the wheels of and put it on a flat surface. Skipped masking tape. Sanded most of but left the deepest scratches so as not to remove to much material. Put pieces of thin cardboard between rim and tire. Sprayed 3 layers of paint and 3 layers of clearcoat. Clearcoat was a little to glossy but the paint blended in perfectly. 3 more to go but will try to find a clear wit a little less gloss.
