We know how much our nation was struggling to complete " Uma Oya " massive hydro power plant which brings water through a 15.3km long penstock tunnel to produce 120MW, which was constructed by Iranian company called " FARAB " due to many failures and obligations. But finally we did it and we thankful to The State of Iran and its people. These gigantic projects are a amazing to watch and you know all the time locals gets the benefits once these kind of projects ended up. But some of communities gets more aggressive and resists those projects. The main focus at last should be that we protect the biodiversity status as much as possibly too. Good one Barrett. Greetings from Sri Lanka 🇱🇰❤️🎉

I was here recently. Very nice damn. Next up, looking forward to China helping Vietnam build the highspeed rail.
@haniahannslew41082 ай бұрын
Lol. No such thing as helping. It’s just contract. If Vietnam is willing to pay for the price China asks, then China could do it. China knows Vietnam too well. China helped Vietnam so many things, but the anti China is always there. This hydropower plant has given Vietnam the technology know-how. Now Vietnam takes that knowledge from China and built their other hydrogen power plants. But there is no appreciation but hostility

@@haniahannslew4108 do you even know how myopic, stupid, and petty you sound bro? Do you think the Chinese leadership think like that. Vietnam has a history with China dating back 2000 years, and throughout those times, there were many times where the two sides were at conflicts with each other, and it wasn't because the much smaller Vietnam was trying to invade China, right? It doesn't meant the two sides were always at odds, right? I mean, there are litterally thousands of Chinese national living and doing business in Vietnam right now. Why don't you go study some history and culture before sounding like one of those American idiots watching CNN news and giving their opinion about China? Go ask all the hundred of thousands of Chinese Vietnamese living in Vietnam right now to see if they'd rather be living in Vietnam as a Vietnamese or move back to China.
@WanderingSword2 ай бұрын
@@haniahannslew4108 well as a Chinese Vietnamese, I can certifiably say you sound like one of those dumb Americans opining about China. Ever thought about that? Honestly I don't think you're Chinese, or if you're Chinese, then you're an ignorant one!

That definitely looks "local"! It's big, but we're so used to seeing titanic hydro projects... One GW per turbine at Baihetan, a thousand Megawatts. This almost seems like it could be for training. It's not a bad thing! It might be that the grid would be better in some way if it's distributed, and makes good use of the local resources like this. Might be the GREEN thing to do!

@leonardpearlman40172 ай бұрын
A good looking dog! He was in the center of the screen for a bit, I thought there was going to be some discussion. "This is the official dog of the site, you can go outside and play with him when you're taking a break", or something like that. I was hoping that the dog had a special job that you wouldn't think of if you don't know about hydropower.

China wants to do a mega power grid where countries in the region come together to use their local resources, hydro, solar, wind, thermal, nuclear.... and feed their power into this mega grid and every country can sell and buy power off this mega grid.

Vietnam is buddy buddy with the US these days. What have the Americans done for Vietnam lately? Clear all the mine fields from the Vietnam war? Fix Vietnam's old train system? Granted Vietnam's bid to change its non-market economy (NME) status? China better pay attention to Aesop's fable about the kind farmer, and speed up construction of the Cambodia canal before another colour revolution change the Cambodia regime.
@HaiLe-xk9qw2 ай бұрын
It was China who was once the very close buddy buddy of the US backstabbing both the USSR and Vietnam and backing the murderous Pol Pot regime here.
