I'm so very grateful you've still kept it alive going into 2025! I've rewatched a ton of the players going through it time and time again and while watching it today I noticed one of Carl's videos commenting that it's occasionally reuploaded. I instantly jumped on and downloaded all the courses. I'm super happy to have them now and play them myself. Y'all are all amazing creators and even if I know the levels basically by memory now, I'm excited to finally have them on my switch too. Side edit: Just thinking, shame Abotun world isn't available as well, but hey, can at least still watch those too. Just having this is great.

I'd like to see an explainer for the history of the troll meta. But it's evolving, and one can only capture it up to the moment the explainer is made, so there are three options: - Update it whenever a new era comes; - Make it at the appropriate point in time - I can tell you when I feel like it (I mean, I can't tell that now, but when that moment comes, I will if needed); - Offer help on understanding it myself - this may be more individual, and I'm not sure if it's feasible in the case of me, but it may be worth trying I think I understand what's in SWW, but I'm not sure if I will understand future eras

There is a way to make blocks de-render from further away. You chain offset hardblocks up and right from the block you're de-rendering and then use the standard de-rendering setup with a hidden block at the end of the chain. If you do two chains of different lengths you might be able to get it to work idk

To get an item to teleport downwards you need to carry-teleport it so that it lands on top of the sloped portion of a steep slope. I believe it specifically needs to be a ↗slope. When the item teleports, it'll land in the same column as normal, but it'll be at the bottom of the level in that column. The vertical space between the slope and the location your item appears will get a hitbox pushing downwards on the frame of the teleport. This can push stuff in the standard push-teleportation ways, although the things being pushed need to be airborne to be affected (i.e. with no solid object directly below them), for reasons I think we explained in the video.

@@orisphera Sorry I realised I misread the original question. In the comment above, I explained how to do vertical teleporting, although that example is assuming the carry-teleported object goes off the broken track without having previously been on a different curved track. Curved track to curved track teleporting is a very under-researched area. You can indeed get it to do vertical teleporting purely by having the curved track that your item is teleporting to, to be above or below the broken track it teleports from.

With all this talk about cameras and scroll stopping and stuff, I feel like Mario Maker 3 better take a hint from Levelhead, because it's way easier to control the camera and stopping scrolling. It's a shame that it's such a niche game that's gotten old; otherwise, I'd recommend it more because framing your shot is a big part of hinting and comedy that people don't really notice. Edit: Of course, that's not to take away from your skills; you're all masters at your craft, and I feel like, instead of romhacks, your skills would be transferrable to specifically level-making games, where there's a healthy push-and-pull between what the level maker allows for and what you can discover. Seems like the next hot stuff is Quest Master, which I'm gonna try out, and there's been some very creative jank already!

TL;DR, it just does that. The exact reasoning is that when the block a shell is sitting on blows up, it gets both upwards and rightwards momentum. The upwards momentum you can immediately see as the bounce it does before falling. The rightwards momentum doesn't show until there ceases to be a wall to the shell's right.

On/off blocks are too generic to make a tech video about. They are used just about everywhere for every purpose, so we'd struggle to show you how to specifically make levels using them.

It's true you very rarely reach the block limit now. But jeeeeez why did they keep the sprite limit at 100???? You have no idea how difficult it was to keep within that limit with this level
