@@alexandermundy2403 Where did you get that crazy dual fan shroud???
@alexandermundy2403
@alexandermundy2403 Жыл бұрын
@@herbienbrian2 They are 2 separate fan shrouds. Both are custom made from sheet metal using CFD simulation and then hand adjusting of the deflectors inside them to minorly adjust the flow pattern to simulate the flow pattern of a doghouse shroud while turning the alternators with an electric motor in a jig. They flow 25% more with power pully size crank pully than a single doghouse shroud with OEM crank pulley. I also slightly increased the flow to the 3-4 side while designing them with CFD because my measurements showed the doghouse shroud flow was a little biased to the 1-2 side. I used welded OEM doghouse fans and circular cut outs from the back side of non-doghouse shrouds where they follow the contour of the fan. I incorporated OEM thermostat vanes that are functional. I did have to alter the vanes for the CB street dominator heads I have now because of clearance. I also added deflectors to even out the CHT's between 1-2 & 3-4 and between banks so all CHT's are within 25F now when warmed up at idle. That was back in 2009 so I do not have many photos, but I do have one of the cardboard mock ups. i.imgur.com/L8XH1iy.jpg

Thank you, I thought it was going to be insurmountable, but I stuck with it. The handmade circuit board is crude, but I have used Kicad to make a proper board (1st time trying that) that is more compact and sent the design off to get it made.

Interesting a L4 , R3 , L2 , R1 opening sequence. If you don't know the combo you could try lining up the gates through the shackle hole, then determine how many numbers it is from 12 o' clock. Then test it by lightly lifting the lever with a small tool or something

@Alexander Mundy - The main vulnerability with these Soler Pulsador and other push button type mechanisms, is the potential for someone to overhear the unlocking sequence. Especially if one knows how the lock functions. After the rack is reset, it's simply a case of counting the licks at each wheel position. But don't take my word for it. It's the reason I'd never use this type of mechanical lock in a safe or vault door.

Just had our house meter replaced. Same day all my kitchen breakers started popping off. Had the power company come back out and they said it wasn't their problem and the meter wouldn't be causing the issue. My meter is directly behind by break box on the other side of the wall.....but it isn't their fault? Regardless they said they won't do anything and I have to have an electrician come out to determine what the problem is. Company is just pawning off the issues they cause to homeowners!

Doug, from your position and over 40 years of experience what is your opinion if we want to secure high-class Safe, let's say TRTL 60x6 from ISM, Israel? From everything that I read and see, keys no matter how much they cost and how secretive they are, Everything is open with the right decoder for under the minute... Electronic locks - very convenient and easy to access, but if this thing dies you must destroy the safe to open it ( it contains glass plate lockers to protect it from drilling and concrete with steel inside making Acetylene Torch attack a nightmare ), and believe me it is super easy to kill it with a strong Neodymium Magnet. And the last option - what do you think about two 4-wheel for example La Garde Mechanical Locks. Yes, it can be manipulated, even if you can find an autodialer cracker for four wheels ( everywhere when I search is only for 3 wheels ), and will take a very long time to brute force the combination. If you want, share your professional opinion.

I have feelers out with various locksmiths in several countries. I had asked my contact in Spain about one of these and a year or so later he contacted me. I'd be ashamed to say how much a few of these have cost me. And the worst fear was realized when a "KGB" USSR Almaz lock (only a couple exist in private hands) was "lost" in transit through Germany from Russia a year ago. If anyone sees Almaz serial number 16 please contact me.

Whomever came up with the idea was thinking totally out of the box. I'm assuming the reason I haven't seen this type of mechanism before is that the expense of machining those tiny parts accurate enough would make it a commercial no go.
@elliotlee233
@elliotlee233 2 жыл бұрын
Fascinating lock, thanks for sharing :) Now I wonder if it could be hacked/picked by applying a strong magnet in the middle to apply force to the plate (rather like you apply tension to a cylinder lock when picking) then try using a small magnet to individually pick each little metal piece like you would the pins in a cylinder lock. I have no idea if it could work, but it's worth a try:)
@alexandermundy2403
@alexandermundy2403 2 жыл бұрын
Good idea, so I played with that a little bit. Basically there isn't any way to control the "tension". Once the plate is attracted enough to move forward the force increases exponentially as it gets closer to the front of the lock. Once it reaches the pins it is quite a bit of force, way more than will allow the pins to move. Backing off the center magnet there is a point where the spring force is greater than the magnetic attraction force and the plate snaps back. Introducing another magnet into the field complicates it further and it either snaps back or drastically increases the "tension". Keeping light enough tension to move the pins is kind of like trying to balance a bb on a needle while someone is slapping your hand.
