The career of a footballer is very short. They have to make the best decisions for themselves both financially and in terms of success if they’re good enough to play for a team that can challenge for awards. The same applies to the football club. The club has to be aware of the right moments for them to maximise the sale value of a player and they also need to be focused on bringing their replacements through. That’s now the business of Football it’s how it works and fans need to accept that.

The idea of "peak" is fair - a player has 4/5 years at their very best, you can't have too many of them out of the competitions you want to be playing in.

@@craighope_dailymail Yes Craig, it’s a balancing act for the clubs. They have to try and achieve their performance goals whilst at the same time running the finances in an acceptable way. People used to call some clubs selling clubs but it’s probably the case that almost all clubs will become selling clubs. I was surprised that Bayern Munich paid so much for Kane knowing at the end of his contract he would be worthless but in a situation like that they’d have to make sure they had other players who they could sell on to offset the Kane purchase which they would have to write-off. May be that’s what other big clubs will do - have a couple of “star” players at their peak in key positions whose value they will eventually write-off surrounded by the others. Because of this there will be a “fight” for emerging talent like never before which could see some big money being paid for youngster and the search will spread across the globe.

I’m afraid Eddie is the main issue currently. No, I’m not saying ‘Howe out’ as I don’t see how that will help but he does need to learn from past mistakes and be more flexible. His loyalty to Wilson et al has disadvantaged the club massively, and we are stuck with several players who should have moved on some time ago. He also needs to tactically be more varied - during games where we are struggling, just bringing your second string on and continuing the same tactics and formation is not going to impact the game - he needs to make the opposition think. I like Eddie and his slight ‘I know what I’m doing’ attitude but he’ll be gone by Christmas if we carry on the current trajectory, whether we think that is the right decision or not.

Keep doing what you’re doing Craig, love the content 👏 I think this could be a real turning point for the season. For both teams a double win would be fantastic, a double loss a huge blow. In reality I imagine they will beat us in the league but we will return the favour and knock them out the cup. Both teams winning 2-1 respectively. On Iskak, look I think it’s growing pains. In an ideal world he gets 30 goals this season we win a cup, and get champions league. If we don’t hit any of those targets then yes it might be best for both parties to move on. It’s such a shame NUFC aren’t afforded the luxury of squad building and retention of players that Chelsea’s Roman Ab and the Man City team had from their takeovers. But in Eddie Howe we have the perfect manager who can absolutely make the most of his tools available and keeping up the team spirit is vital which is why Eddie only goes for a certain character type. What can’t be challenged is if this group of players do win a trophy it will be from their own endeavour and character and not from a ‘cheat code” of an insane amount of money and signings akin to Chelsea. Craig here specifically mentions Arsenal and “a reluctance on Isaks part to re-sign”. It’s all speculation and dramatics on Craig’s part and it’s very disappointing. We signed Alex for a high fee and would expect double that considering his progress since. Craig also states NUFC have got their transfers wrong since takeover. Well even without considering how far the club have progressed in the last 3 years we need to remember the likes of Bruno, Isak and Gordon are worth double what we payed for. We are only restricted because of uncompetitive laws. Thats the real story. However Craig needs to tell us who could afford to pay £150m for Isak in these PSR times? Or is he just twerking for clicks while stirring the shit with the club he professes to love? Enough!

I'd sell him for 110+ only. I think he's the one I'd sell as he bring in highest fee based on demand.

Do you seriously think we are going to qualify for the CL we were never going to qualify the minute that transfer window closed 🤷♂️

110 million and isak is gone for me use the money to build otherwise when can we spend that kind of money no time soon that’s for sure

He's not consistent and injury prone to be the lead striker. WE don't have any kind of strike force as both Gordon and Barnes are wingers and FFS both play the same position????? The whole recruiting team need sacking.

No champions League for us until we stop taken Tonali off to put longstaff if he better than tonali I hope the can sell him for more what they pay for Tonali !!! Good luck with that 😢
@canderson19552 ай бұрын
Crikey you must really hate Longstaff. He came on when Tonali had started and played nothing more than average for 70 minutes. Tonali is a better player but he didn’t show it in this came and by the time he came off he was knackered. Give Longstaffi a break ffs.

Wilson's time is up (he should have gone in the Summer of 23) - he is now a mental wreck. This is all on Eddie because he won't kick out a mate. The only way Isak, Bruno, Sandro stay, as we won't qualify for Europe this season, is by Eddie being replaced by an elite level coach. The Geordie media bought Howe's narrative last season that doing well in the Champs league and the Prem was impossible. Villa have knocked that theory on the head. This Sunday we play a Chelsea team that has played Liverpool away and in Greece since we last played. We have no excuse not to at least be competitive. A heavy defeat and I truly believe Eddie has to go. I'm going 4-4-1-1 for the next 3 games: Pope Tino Schar Kelly Hall Murphy Longstaff Bruno Gordon Tonali Isak

Keep for 2 year then sell. Hopefully he increases in value to well over 100m. It’s natural for him to want to play CL

Craig who is the source of your information about no talks taking place with Isak? Sources should be named, it's not enough to repeatedly claim "my information is....". With respect Craig - the reporting on NUFC by the football media has become appalling. Far too many reporters are creating narratives of their own without any FACTS - I know there's pressure to have things to publish or report on TV etc., however there can still be honesty about whether a report is from a club source or supposition based on other facts. FACT or SUPPOSITION should be made clear at the start of any report/article. As things stand toon fans don't know what the hell to believe anymore. Reports created via supposition can sometimes do damage, as they can adversely affect the relationship between fans & the club, or fans & players etc., when there's actually no reason for it.
