My question is how to tell the grandparents to stop buying big clunky toys! “Closed loop” toys where they only play with it once and move on. 🙃 And 2! I started clearing out toys recently, slowly little by little, but my husband asks “but someone spent money to give this toy to them! You’re just giving it away??” Thoughts? He has a point but do they need two stuffed pigs the size of a cat?? Noooope

I’m in the same boat! It’s always such a hard conversation! 😅 sending over an exact link of the gifts I want for my kids has been helpful, they basically just buy that usually off Amazon. As for your husbands thoughts, I get it and that’s why it’s hard to let go of things. But certain things are just not being used anymore, maybe they’ve already served their time and it’s time to pass it on to someone else so it actually gets more use.

I think you didn't have that many toys to begin with; many of us have more. 🙈🙈🙈 I have two bigger kids (8 & 10) and one 2 year old, so we have a wide range of toys... Sure my almost 11 year old doesn't really play with toys anymore. I am sorry for the mold. 😢 Luckily you found it!

As a non christian mom, I appreciate your content because you always were quite honest about parenthood. Your video on caring for your newborns was incredibly helpful in my journey. I personally am a working scientist and my husband too stay at home parent duties. My son goes to daycare a couple days a week and he loves it. He has a group of friends and we get to enjoy a lot of family activities as well.

I really love you and your content and honesty. But you are kind of that influencer also, who seems so effortless and perfect to me. You make your own caugh medicine, you grow stuff in the garden, you paint the house, everything is always organized and neat. I know it is not all the time but that is what I see. Always shopping (thrifting) and decluttering. You know what I mean? It is the same as you mentioning the trade wife contents that brings flowers in the house and cook from scratch. These kind of things are also what could make me feel like a bad mom cause I don't do half these things. Oh and homeschooling. That is again a pressure.
@Nicolelelagreen9 күн бұрын
Hey! I appreciate your honesty here and honestly I’ve mentioned this a lot of times in my videos, that I have a fear of also causing other moms to feel “not enough” because I’m sharing all these things I get done. I think a few things, 1) even as I share all I’m doing, I try to do it in a very realistic way, sharing the ups and downs of the process, including mistakes along the way. As well as being balanced in my approach how much to spend or when to stop and rest. And 2) this is my job at the end of the day, making content. And my content happens to be all the things I’m getting done haha! So like, it causes me to be more productive in a sense because it’s literally my job. Whereas, a mom who’s already working a FT job outta the house may find this unrealistic to their life and feel “not enough”. In which, like we shared in this video, that mom may not benefit from following me and if suggest finding moms who align more with their lifestyle. I hope that makes sense. I’d also like to ask you, what do you think would help you feel more like I don’t “have it all together”? Genuinely curious how I can improve in this area because I don’t want to come off that way of course. It’s def a fine line of trying to motivate others while being relatable and realistic. Lately I’ve been calling it “gentle motivation” … Wishing you the best mama!

Omg thank you for your video. Currently in the two week wait and having everything you've been describing. Acne (never have it), diarrhea (blame it on my IBS), exhaustion (put it up to holiday activities), and feeling flush (also run cold but felt it was due to places cranking up the heat), and annoyance with my husband. My main sourdough is a few things and drains me hard :/ i have a 2 yr old for now •Everyone is having kids back to back but id prefer a age gap •Do i homeschool or public school (work or dont work) •cut back more on tv like influencers or is 2 hrs a day spread out reasonable •Cycle of getting influenced of toys or items later to declutter them because less is truly more for me
@Nicolelelagreen8 күн бұрын
Thanks for sharing! I was just chatting with my cousin about spreading out age gaps and how for some people it’s better for their mental health instead of back to back, truly depends on the mom!

Thank you for making a legit decluttering video and not just organizing chaos like most videos ppl do lol big difference at the end thats amazing! Thats a minimalist great amount and im glad things are going well! Any advice on toys in the kitchen set up? I put a cabinet of fake food but he grabs it and dumps it all over the floor and not ready for a play kitchen. Is it bad if i move it or put away for now? I switched his toys to 4 bins under the tv stand in living room and big difference, room just has books and stuffies which i also lowered which was harder on me! Haha ty
@Nicolelelagreen12 күн бұрын
Thanks for the kind words! The kitchen food gets a bit messy with us too but only the older two actually know how to utilize it for kitchen play, so depends on your kids age really. If they’re too young now then maybe try putting it away for a bit OR showing them more how to pretend play with it they might learn better that way. Sounds like you have some great systems in place though awesome job!

I tried to purge today (I include my kids with toy purges)! My daughter got rid of 3 tiny toys🥲 my son remembers EVERYTHING, so it’s hard to get rid of his toys unless they’re broken..
@Nicolelelagreen12 күн бұрын
So I should’ve mentioned this in the video, but I didn’t have my kids help with the first purge, they were watching a show the whole time and really weren’t paying attention so I was able to make decisions without them. For the majority of the stuff that went into the revisit Ben I had Jace help me with and help me make decisions on Since he knew better what he was willing to set aside.

I think another great way to “gift” your loved ones is an “experience.” I bought my parents movie theatre passes from Costco so they can treat themselves to a night out at the movies. Not everything needs to be materialized but another example might be dinner is on me next time so I’ll cover the bill for a meal at a restaurant or I want to offer my time to watch my close friends children so the parents can take a break to have time away from the house. Maybe baking cookies for neighbour or volunteering your time is another great way to give back to an organization or community! There’s endless ways to give thanks and “gifts” and spread joy this season! Thank you for sharing, great video 😊
