Awesome video. Thank you. I’d like to see more on setting up and saving recipes and is it possible to retain the stock recipes as one bank and the customized bank separately so in effect 14 recipes will be available. Do you know?

You just made my camera like 200% more usable for me. I have been so frustrated by the command dial settings and didn't know I had to set the Shutter ring to "T" and the ISO ring to "C". It's been driving me up the wall since I got the camera a few days ago. You sir are a true gem.

Why on earth would anyone buy an APSC camera with a crippled AF system when there are full frame cameras out there with superior IQ & FF for similar money.
@JayRegular2 ай бұрын
Because believe it or not, most consumers don't know much about sensor size or care for the objective opinions of enthusiasts. They are just looking for a camera that looks nice and produces pretty images without any post editing, which Fuji does really well.

Personally the fact that Fujifilm innovates is one of the things that attracts me to their brand. I'm also one that is very excited about the XM 5 as I'm currently shooting on the xa7 and love that camera for its compactness
@JayRegular2 ай бұрын
Hardware innovation is great and it is needed for a company to grow but it isn't everything. An analogy is like buying a new electric car but the software is buggy and ruins the driving experience, that is to say, there needs to be a good balance.

Just fyi, your video camera was not focusing on the coffee bag which took up 2/3 of the screen and was there for at least 10 seconds, ????
@JayRegular2 ай бұрын
thats the great thing about panasonic s5iix face and eye detect, it actually keeps the detection on the face. if it was an X-T4 it would go crazy and focus back and forth between the bag and my face and probably even the background 😂

I can never trust Fuji again disappointment after disappointment with them. Fuji is beyond pathetic and they should sell their camera division just like Olympus did, health care is their main business fuji is broken company has no vision for the future.
@JayRegular2 ай бұрын
I wouldn't go that far, but I do wish they would hire more software engineers or the like to fix and/or overhaul the existing autofocus algorithm. Just need to see some magic happen.

@patrick80352 ай бұрын
💯 agree - whenever I see Fuji rumours talk about a new camera, just makes me think that Fuji would do better to save their resources for fixing their software issues or even just manufacturing the cameras they’ve already released and people have pre-ordered and are waiting for. With the new X-series cameras now over $2k AUD, they’re now in the same price range as entry level or older Full frame cameras with better specs and bigger lens selections, so they can’t keep coasting on just their film simulations and cult following for long. I recently got a Panasonic S5ii for photo and it’s been great, so that’s cool that you got an S5iix. Hope your personal challenges are temporary and you can have more time doing fun things 👍
@JayRegular2 ай бұрын
Yep, and if Fujifilm finally caves and makes a full frame camera it just goes to show they are literally following market trends and making what is in demand. Rather than trying their damnest to perfect what they have, they would rather take the easy road to sales.
@TheBigNegative-PhotoChannel2 ай бұрын
I recently traded all my Fuji gear for Sony. It's so liberating when you can fully trust the AF-C while working commercially. I think if Fuji doesn't react soon, they'll probably lose a lot of customers who want to use Fuji commercially. Whether photographers or videographers.I hope Fuji listens to you. ;)
@JayRegular2 ай бұрын
I believe when it comes to autofocus, your video comparing sony to fuji really is a testament to how glaring the issue is. I've never done commercial with Fujifilm but I feel it would be a headache and a half, especially if it is in a wedding setting, where there are no redos

I’ve come across several Fujifilm critique videos and it feels like the majority have a misconception about Fujifilm. Fujifilm’s imaging division (Instax + X Series + GFX) is a footnote in Fujifilm’s annual gross and net revenue. Instax alone is almost DOUBLE the combined revenue of Fujifilm X-Series + GFX). Fujifilm’s main source of income is in the medical and cosmetic field. If you download some of Fujifilm’s income pie charts, their imaging division is an almost non-existent slice. The CEO of Fujifilm has stated that their imaging division is a legacy of Fujifilm’s history. That’s the only reason it exists today. This does not excuse Fujifilm’s AF issues but Fujifilm is a victim of their own success. Given its lack of importance to the growth and profitability of Fujifilm, I doubt the imaging division’s R&D budget, employees, or dedicated manufacturing changes year over year. The fact that Fujifilm cameras have become a popular brand to the Canon/Nikon/Sony beast has actually hurt them. The only company who runs their photographic division similar to Fujifilm is Ricoh, whose camera division is also not the main driver of the company’s growth or finances. From the interviews I’ve seen of Fujifilm’s Imaging employees, they all seem to be VERY passionate about photography but they simply don’t have the resources in proportion to their user base and cameras to be supported. And from a business standpoint there is little reason for Fujifilm to invest MORE into what is becoming an increasingly niche market of enthusiasts.

I never found you rambling. What you said really hits home with most of us, and I really appreciate that. Now, I never use video. Photography is my bag and what I love about Fuji is the way their cameras resemble the old film cameras. I love how I can control my settings without having to go into the menu every time (once I set up the menu to what I need). Nothing can compare to Fuji's in-camera filters, for example, when I shoot b&w, I can easily choose green, yellow, red filter. And of course some of Fuji's lenses are amazing. I can't contribute to my opinion on the apps because I don't use them, but IMHO, Fuji could improve on their autofocus/face tracking up to the point where they're equal with Sony. I enjoyed this Jay. Thanks for speaking up. 👍

That's what makes it infinitely more frustrating, is when a camera is near perfect except for one single flaw.😅
@WhoIsSerafin2 ай бұрын
It seems like quality control of their cameras after the X100V went south fast. You cheapen down the quality of the product and then move it to a communist country to build your product it’s not going to go the best. I’m happy I kept the 100v but I won’t be spending anymore money into Fuji for the foreseeable future. My Olympus/OMS cameras have been exemplary for the last 16 years. I mean I can use WiFi to download raw and 4k video. But not Fuji in 2024. So instead of the next x100 I got the Nikon ZF and that’s an amazing camera. But still can’t use WiFi to download 4k. And only 115 raw photos at a time. Otherwise just an amazing camera for manual lenses that gives Leica a run for their money.
@JayRegular2 ай бұрын
We need more cameras like the Nikon ZF to come out, to show Fuji theyh can also do retro styled cameras, BUT with better quality of life features and experiences

Ich arbeite mit Fuji X-T4 & X-H2s; Themen zu Fujifilm sind immer interessant✅ Hier in Europa, ich lebe in Österreich, hört man von Fujifilm relativ, oder sehr wenig; LEIDER. It is very enlightening to hear your commentary ie thoughts and goals as you take photos. I have an M4 with a Voigtlander 35/25 for general, 'deliberate' photography and have recently bought a X100V, primarily because I want to learn how to recognise and capture good street scenes. This is why I find your commentary so useful.

Hi. I am new and learning about fuji film stimulations. I wanted to know that , if filmed using a film stimulation does the video record in raw format and only shows the look on the camera or also records video with the look of film stimulation?
@JayRegular3 ай бұрын
That depends if you set your video recording format to F-LOG. If you did, then yes, the film simulation will only be a preview. If not, then then simulation will be baked into the footage.
