Which fertilizer do you use ? You did now show any fertilizer in your entire video but your title about fertilizer
@GardenofGiants4 күн бұрын
Which video are you looking at? The one you wrote the comment under is titled “protect your pumpkins”, which obviously is not a fertilizing video but if you let me know, which one you’re looking at I’ll let you know what to feed.

@@GardenofGiants can you help me which fertilizer should I use for grow massive pumpkin?
@GardenofGiants4 күн бұрын
As always, a soil test will let you know how much nutrients is in the soil. But as a general rule, once you have a giant pumpkin on the vine, I would up your dose of potassium, cal mag, and boron… In addition to those I would put kelp in every single watering you do in very small amounts. I would also do humic/fulvic acid. Along with silica and amino acids. Now during pumpkin plant growth, you’ll add a little more nitrogen in the form of a “grow” product. I use the line from NPK called “Raw”

Can we use a styrofoam underneath the patch?
@GardenofGiants7 күн бұрын
Yes but be sure to drill holes and put sand down across the styrofoam….. one word of caution if the Styrofoam is not very strong you could run into problem so that’s why I always lean towards foam board because of the strength of it.

Any tips on getting megas? I have only had 1 on 3 different plants this year
@GardenofGiants13 күн бұрын
Mega are very finicky. I even have trouble getting them, some things you can try, though are extreme trimming that will stress the plant out slightly thus giving you a better chance of a mega, going a little crazy with the phosphorus can sometimes push a mega out. But nothing is surefire and many times you just have to get lucky.

These pumpkins usually have so much fertilizer in them that they would not be good to eat.
@GardenofGiants15 күн бұрын
@@drakes89 fertilizers not the issue because that just gives nutrition like higher in potassium or calcium. It would be the chemicals that I would worry about. But there is a North Dakota grower that does turn his into pumpkin pie every year. They definitely don’t taste as good as pumpkins, actually grown for pumpkin pies because they are a little more watery.
@drakes8915 күн бұрын
@@GardenofGiants i've seen videos where there are potassium crystals inside the pumpkins. If they contain nitrates that would definetly cause health issues. but like you said, some growers use weapons grade pesticides. Having battled squash bugs this year I can't see how anyone can avoid using them haha! Not that many people seem open to disclose what kind of chemicals they're spraying.
