What's this kind of flying called? Where you're using the wind from a hill to cruise around for awhile. As opposed to using thermals for cross country flying

You're a fantastic story teller Judson. The 'free spirit' vibe your videos express always speaks to something deep for me, part of myself that I put aside in the pursuit of family, responsibility, business and other 'grown up' undertakings. Neglecting the part I put aside has not served me well and rediscovering it is a top priority for me currently. The irony of working and expending time and effort to be 'irresponsible' again is not lost on me :) Thanks for sharing your passion mate, warmest regards from Perth, Australia.

Nailed it. Excellent job. I’m a 16 time burner, first year 1999. I love that you weaved in the origin, the ethos, the principles, and the sights and sounds.

You captured this beautifully. I am a longtime Lamplighter and am so pleased at how you’ve captured your experience. It’s such an honor to bring light (illumination, navigation, and celebration) to Black Rock City - and we couldn’t do it without volunteers like you and your camp. Thank you 🙏 Welcome home

Eloquent words to describe what is indescribable as BM's meaning is unique for each sojourner. Living joyfully and in gratitude saluting the impermanence of life. The world needs more love. Thank you Judson for sharing your perspective and film.

"Black Rock" the Global Corporation is a worryingly large and overly influential entity.. Why is Black Rock City named so..? 🤔

The namesake for the region was given in the early 1840s by men making their way to California during the early days of the gold rush. Black Rock, the corporation was established in 1988, 2 years after the conception of BM… they hadn’t even moved off Baker Beach yet. I’m *positive* they are not related. For all of the conspiracies surrounding the city, I’ve been to all corners of it and visited the camps of billionaires, and people that save all year to go. In my experience, everyone is treated as an equal, and welcomed with open arms. It honestly isn’t as deep as everyone thinks. Maybe it attracts so many tech millionaires is because it’s a chance for them to just be treated like everyone else.
