FAQ: 9.6 mpg on the highway. 60 gallon diesel tank Goes 65 mph comfortably Paid $5,500 for the bus Have $16-18k in the build, it’s hard to get an exact number because stuff like the countertop, and a lot of 1/4 inch plywood were gifted. Not to mention countless hours of help from people like Wes, and my brother went into it as wel.

You are living the life I wish I had lived. I was a hang glider pilot when I was your age, but then I decided to go into engineering, and it was profitable but not very pleasant. You are doing all the fun things I missed out on, very smart! Nice job on the bus too!

Respect on the build my BM brother. I didn't realize how fresh goose was when I met y'all in black rock City. Just reborn. Dope af. Enjoy baja. I've driven and camped the entire peninsula twice. First place I saw bio luminescence was bahia de concepcion. Hola via Buenos Aires 🇦🇷 y ¡Feliz viaje! 🚌🌵 🌊🏄🌅

Sweet build bro!!!!, I just purchased a ATC toy hauler for my paracamper needs for the 2024 flying year. If you ever coming thru VA, hit me up and I’ll introduce you to the locals and some of my private LZ’s 😊. I had welded Jake’s trailer hitch back on his bus build when he was traveling from aviator to Pennsylvania

The "wood" comment.... Easy Pee Wee. Love it. Keep up the great work. May need a backcountry PPG progression clinic in the future. You couldn't have stayed closer to Jersey, huh? Stay safe.

If you ever manage to make it up here to Alaska, this is one thing I would love to see up close. I've heard of people doing this very thing to school buses here in Fairbanks, but I've never actually seen one of these except maybe very much once or twice in passing.

Thanks for sharing. You made your Skoolie conversion simple yet practical, and didn't go overboard with non-essential niceties. The cool thing about bus conversions is that they're all unique, and suited to the individual/s own inspiration. Anyone who's able can shell out thousands of dollars for a manufactured RV, but where's the fun in that. This is something that you can take pride in because you experienced firsthand the blood, sweat, tears, and hours upon hours of brain-storming and labor to accomplish the build. Your electrical box comment was hilarious, "We just don't go in here."

Such a cool story! I’m curious: 110 gallons of water adds 880lbs. Were you paying attention to the manufacturer’s rated load capacity in your modifications? How many miles does it get per gallon of diesel? Do you ever feel like you need a backup camera?
@JudsonGraham11 ай бұрын
The completed build is *well under* the GVWR
@JudsonGraham11 ай бұрын
Sometimes with the backup camera but you can just use a GoPro with wifi, and it gets 9.6 on the highway
