You should have used a Athearn Genesis GEVO for comparison. That would have really shown how far ahead Scale trains is in the detail department. I think a really good shootout would be a Genesis Dash 9 or AC4400 against Scale trains Dash 9 or AC4400.

Scaletrains is the best for locomotive details and quality in the HO world, closely followed by Athearn Genesis.

Scaletrains is the best engine company hands down. Anyone who says different is wrong. I know this is a N scale video but I'm talking about HO scale. They make the highest detailed engines that are the most reliable. While they do have some QC issues at times, especially there last run of. Ac4400's which all had a wiring problem from the factory their engines run flawlessly for quite some time. Now athearn does make some high quality engines but the biggest factor that is a major downside with their engines is they don't come factory with a keep alive which for a massive layout is a necessity. I feel like sound isn't really a factor in a comparison as the best decoder hands down is esu loksound. With unlimited possibilities with esu all Scaletrains engines are eligible for custom sound files that make them sound like the real thing, not the shitty sound files they come with.

Aligning things very accurately is sometimes called "registering". I am very interested how the track is regiseterd by .025mm or 0.07 in the vertical and horizontal. The first installation may work. It may become out of alignment by termperature or humidity changes, or if someone (me) accidentally kicks the legs supporting that location,

Thank you fo sharing this with us all as im currently building a outdoors shed and was looking for a good way to design a way to upgrade the door etry point instead of always climbing under it so i did a lift out section but was always a pain to have to do this all the time so this has rebooted my thoughts now so thank you kindly for that bro absolutely awesome 🤠👌

I didn't ace my first helix because of the math. Not an easy project as you know. I just stumbled across your channel looking for new ways to weather some cement hoppers I'm working on. You are. a modeler after my own heart bro. Though I model 1988 and don't have as much graffiti as you, I love a good rust bucket. I enjoyed your video on ghosting letters. I never tried solvaset before so I'll try that next time. Thanks for that.

Great video. Just a note, having a single bracket for barbed wire (vice a Y shape or razor wire) is to provide additional level of protection along with the fence. You would want the bracket/wire to be setup to keep folks out. The way you have it sitting doesn't add the protection from outside sources, but does a good job of keeping the folks inside stuck there LOL. Simple fix to flip the fencing so that wire is facing 'outward' to further protect what's behind the fence. Don't feel bad, I have seen it misapplied in several real world applications as I was researching fencing for same purpose as you (yards, fuel facilities, etc).

Dear ProScale Models, cool progress! When viewing your second last vid, I was kinda anticipating this kind of tweak to your layout. Humbly think the helix really suits the space, definitely adds some opportunities to create some real estate for an industrial section on top of the helix, plus some awesome retaining walls alongside part of the upper helix deck leading the tracks into an underground section of your layout. Can imagine those walls will become a canvas for some elaborate tags and other kinds of graffiti. Could also be fun to add some nasty piping, either parallel to part of the tracks, or crossing it. Especially with an industry footprint next to it this area may become a true eye catcher when entering the layout room. Cheerio

You could model the outside like a parking garage, and have little street stands and people milling about. Total blade runner neon throw back. That way you can also watch the trains go up and down instead of hiding them. Just my first impressions, since it is 200 feet of track.

for live shows ..woudl you consider segments- 15 minutes on robots , 15 minutes train weathering or kit building..jsuta breath up of segments with the occasional side screen with the front widow view on one of your trains rounding the track every so slowly

I hope you don't enclose it with anything permanent. Often people regret that approach when they deal with derailments. Best option could be a dark black curtain ( if you actually choose to hide any of it ). Best of luck.

Howdy! Oh man... that is an impressive helix! Takes up some space but what a cool element! Just so I'm following along, and I apologize if you mentioned it, but will there be an option to bypass the helix and stay on the upper level? Or will all trains route up and down the helix and visit both levels on a full loop of the layout. Love the idea of a live here on YT! If you stayed with the model railroading theme you could have some live guests to chat with. Nicely done! 🤠

I suspect that you laid out the subroadbed sections on the flat, which meant that the extra length of the grade made them all just slightly too short. As you got to the top of the helix, enough error stacked up to be noticeable. I like the construction you used- simple and sturdy. Question: Will the bog be back and where will it go?
@ProScaleModels
@ProScaleModels 23 күн бұрын
Oh yeah - that makes perfect sense. and yes The Bog will be back on the lower part tucked in a corner which will make for some eerie scenes
