Looking good! I haven't checked in with the channel in a while, lots of changes! The bench work trim looks great.... that is an awesome idea and will only add to the overall vibe of the layout. Since you dropped the lower deck down below the bridge for that water scene, have you considered cutting out the backside so you could create an actual pipe back to the wall? Then you could look into the culvert and give yourself another angle into some more detail. Either way, keep it up man, great stuff!

This layout is awesome, and that helix is operating smooth. I can't remember which video it was but are you going to add that run down boat dock into the layout.
@ProScaleModels4 ай бұрын
Yes sir I am - it'll be directly across from the helix. Should be fun.
@danhrivnak97194 ай бұрын
A nuclear crater for the center of the helix? Just an idea. Then you could have buildings collapsing into the hole. Love the progress and the Harry Potter wand as the pointer.
@B2Pproduction4 ай бұрын
I'd propose curtains around the outside of the helix. Allows easy access but also blocks the light, which could make the homeless shanty house to be kept more in the dark and have whatever leds you ad there pop more

Love how the Layout is turning out. With the helix I have to get my layout finished. I need a crew to help me finish my layout. I have all that space on the layout & not even finished lol

It be cool on the lower level to have different degrees of recovery of the post apocalyptic civilization as diaramas. Like the movie in time when the actor goes thru all the gates from the poor area to the wealthy area. Congrats on the Walthers contest. Nice work bud
@thomasdecker76314 ай бұрын
Excellent progress. Operating on the lower level might be done comfortably from a rolling office chair. The biggest downside I see is that installing a backdrop could be a monumental pain. Also, could you elaborate a little on your lower level lighting? Looks like Christmas lights? That's something I am interested in trying with white lights and also blue for night operation. Congrats also on winning the grafitti competition and condolences to Jason and his family for their losses.

The lights are just simple led strip lights from Amazon. and they can be changed from the different colors to the dimming.

Congrats to you. We'll keep Jason and his family in our prayers. You're right he is a great guy. Layout is coming along fine. For helix , how about green vines all along the outside? Be prepared, when you cover the outside of a helix , you will have at least one derailment in there😂😂.

I have been getting ideas from a lot of train builders on how to build stuff . I haven’t tried since I was a kid . And I am ready to give it a go again . Just wondering how big I should start with ?
@ProScaleModels4 ай бұрын
there's many ways to go - I would start with a shelf layout 2ftx8ft. You can put a lot on that space and that would be consider a point to point layout. meaning that trains wouldn't move constantly in a loop. If you have the space then you could do a design to where the trains could do some sort of loop or something. But to get your feet wet I would do the point to point and have in your mind room for expansion. Hope that helps
