Brilliant video, mine has locked opposites. I was wondering...do you have to code the new pump to the vehicle with scanner?

Great video, thank you, however, I'll add in a neat little hack I came up with...as the 'hole' that the filter fits in through is about 75% of the size of the filter itself, at best, if you squeeze the new filter and put an elastic band, fit it in through the hole and then snip and pull out the elastic band, the whole process is much easier👍👍

The engine should rotate freely of it has smashed all the rockers up as the valves will all be shut against the head!

Great video mate..Im doing this on a 1.6 Berlingo. Ive got a question about the timing, when i sit the camshaft down, the slit that the sprocket sits in is pointing to the right like your video, but the timing hole isnt inline, its off to the right a bit, how do i get it in the right place? Can i move it anti clockwise a bit then put a pin in it? Cheers
@Chris_CDB
@Chris_CDB 8 күн бұрын
Yes mate, you need to get it as I have it in the video and then when you have bolted down the cam caps you can then move it round to get the pin in.

Yea you may have to just move the crank round one way or the other (just so you can move the cam into position) and then bring the crank back round to top dead afterwards.

After spending two days trying to bleed the system with no luck i was in despair, what to try next. Went out to the car this morning and after three pumps on the brakes lots of air came out from the system. i bleed both rear wheels and the system was working perfectly. Many thanks for your tip. Best wishes.

Just a warning. The lobes on the camshaft can get spun. Seen it happen on many tdci hdi engines. I would either check their position or order new shaft.
@Chris_CDB
@Chris_CDB 16 күн бұрын
And just to correct the statement on this… these camshafts are not press fit lobes, they are a solid machined camshaft (one piece), so although yes like on some of my other videos I show cam replacement due to the cams being the type you talk about these ones on this particular engine are not.

Hi buddy, using your other video the rebuild a 2008, pulled cam out today, 3 broken rockers and 1 valve sling with the collet popped off. Valve is sliding up and down with no friction and looks to be straight. Have you had any experience similar and got it running with cams, lifters and rockers? Also the collets seem a pain to get back on 😂

Hi, thank you for sharing. Would you say for a valve steam seal replacement on the N12, the big springs of the VVT don’t need to be unscrewed? I somehow don’t want to open the 4 bolts at the top of the springs… With your notched screwdriver, can the tension of the springs be reduced enough for valve stem seals replacement? Or is it necessary to also completely demount the VVT shaft to be able to replace the valve stem seals on intake side?
@Chris_CDB
@Chris_CDB Ай бұрын
You don’t need to undo those bolts on top of the springs no, once you have used the “tool” to take the tension off , there will still be spring pressure and it will try to fling the bits everywhere but it’s fine to leave the bolts on top.

Having problem of cam belt stipping teeth at the moment and removed the rocker cover today for closer inspection - three broken rocker arms with roller bearings missing but also a couple of twisted valves. If I take head off and replace valves, rockers, lifters and cam along with removal of sump and oil filter to check for any metal pieces, presumming pistons and bores are good will it rebuild and run fine or do i look at other options.
