Brilliant video, mine has locked opposites. I was wondering...do you have to code the new pump to the vehicle with scanner?

if one of the brake caliper is impossible to open, could you simly deactivate the ABS to release the cylinder and get the pads out?
@Chris_CDB Жыл бұрын
If it is stuck on your best bet is to release the bleed nipple on the calliper to release the hydraulic pressure from the line, that should give you enough to get the calliper off.

Thank you for uploading this video! My car has the same symptoms but when I remove the ABS fuses problem is still there. Could it be still ABS pump even when it's switched off?
@bzamani9871Ай бұрын
despite above, the problem was what you said. Thank you but I had calipers and master cylinder changed wronkly by mechanics before fixing the ABS. Mechanics initially said the problem was cliaper then master cylinder which both turned out to be wrong.

Does the same effecr happen with the engine stopped? I have the seizure on the front left caliper, already changed the front brake lines.
@Chris_CDB5 ай бұрын
Yea the engine running won’t have any effect, on the pump, it’s the abs pump That’s holding the calliper.

If it is a problem with the pump valve sticking, is the problem there all the time or is it intermittent ... Regards Andy
@Chris_CDB Жыл бұрын
It can be intermittent to begin with and then it will eventually turn to being a complete nightmare to drive!

So if only one FL get's stuck it must be valve?
@Chris_CDB9 ай бұрын
If only one is stuck it’s unlikely to be the valve, as they are plumbed in opposite pairs, probably a sticky calliper of it’s just the one.

We tried to take it all apart grease it and back together and it happend again almost immdiatleyMust be something with valve or hoses or maybe even abs unit...

Nice video... So it's not the electric part that goes bad, but the valves? Can't you just take them out and clean them?

I have this fault, two diagonal calipers locking solid after a brake bleed using an Eezibleed and got a nice firm pedal but FR and RL brake calipers seized. All the calipers were replaced but the same two corners again locked solid after bleeding. Almost exactly as described in ECUTesting’s video Ford Fiesta ABS Pump And Ford Transit ABS Fault Causing Sticking Brake Calipers The ABS unit (listed by ECUTesting as potentially having the fault) was sent to ECUTesting but they tested it and reported no fault found. Has anyone had this experience? Has got to be either the master cylinder or the hoses, right? By the way, I had the unit repaired just in case it’s intermittent.

I have the same thing going on for a 2015 Ford Focus. FR and RL brake calipers seized (especially tight on FR). Replaced all 4 calipers, rotors, and pads but same thing is still happening.

What was the culprit? I been working on this issue with my car for going on three weeks now. Your comment here was the first I've heard of this FR + RL calipers seize up.

It will 99.9% be your abs unit

Thankyou for this gem. I had diagonal LF&RR binding after any pedal braking, but handbrake did not bind. All calipers good. Forscan OBD2 showed no faults recorded. Found rear right hose degraded. Replaced all 4 hoses and found very light braking was then possible -tho normal braking caused the abs to binding the diagonals again. Also found binding would release with a tiny light 2nd dab. So I think hose was root cause of overpressure/volume backflow damage to abs pump. Had to renew the damaged abs pump to get the car working properly and safely. Passed mot immediately.

Thanks for the video mate. Do you need a proper scan tool to bleed that ABS valve block? Cheers
@Chris_CDB Жыл бұрын
In an ideal world you would cycle the abs pump with a scan tool, however it’s not 100 % necessary for the home mechanic.. worst case bleed brakes best you can, take it to a safe place to slam the brakes on to activate the abs pump a few times, return home and bleed some more.
