Already have the L lenses, but I daily the smaller lighter kit lenses. I’m very interested in this and the 16-28 2.8 stm to replace those kit lenses. Then I can relegate the L lenses to professional use exclusively. 🤔

Nice tip to use the radial or linear gradients , I add a vignette between -5 to -12 to the majority of my photos to subtly draw the eye , a tip I picked up off a youtuber ... I like thecwaybit looks , but the subject is not always in centre , now that you mention using radial gradients it seems so obvious... but I never thought of it . Keep the tutorials coming , I lear a lot from them thanks 👏

I love my R3, it is fantastic in the field. However, the resolution upscale feature in the R1 would be nice to have.

There are plenty morons out there wanting to slam the price on this lens (bcoz why not) - the glass is L quality, weather sealed, it is f2.8, nine blades & has stabilization- now tell me what brand has a zoom like that that's dirt cheap??

The clicking sound from your mic... man.. man... maybe run your video through somekind of voice isolation to see if you can reduce that? It's so distracting

Maybe viewing on an iPad is less than ideal but to me the sales assistants face looks over exposed. That said your technique is inspiring.

I went from a Z9 to a Z8 as the Z9 was just too heavy and bulky to take hiking. The weight saving makes it so much easier. If I need an even lighter setup, I take the Z7II.

Since getting my primes 35 f1.4, 50 f1.2 & 85 f1.4 I find myself not using my RF 24-70mm f2.8 nowhere near as much as I use to so I'm thinking of selling it to get this lens and use it as my everyday walk around lens and at least I'll have an f2.8 in my arsenal if I need it.

I have been a fan of Nikon until have the Sony a7Riii. I was expecting more updates in Z50ii. But it is a very old sensor & without IBIS 👎. There are nothing improvement in dynamic range.

I hope Panasonic release their own version of this camera and make it dust proof.
@caskrakerКүн бұрын
Inform yourself: Panasonic stated they will not make their own version. And the DLUX8 way well be dust proof. The slow zoom suggests they did something to the lens. Leica will never tell, because they don’t like claims on the old model.

You did an excellent job complicating the lighting. I'd have considered linear gradients emphasizing the shadow on the subject's face. I think a darker photo overall would've been a more honest representation.

Im divided between 16-28 f2.8 or 14-35 f4 almost the same price. Whats your opinion? I like landscape, street, low light, travels . Best regards
@flixbert2 күн бұрын
Go for the 14-35. The range is much more flexible, depth of field isn’t really impressive either way because of the wide angle and f4 is more than enough with modern cameras for low light. Also it’s an L-lens so it is more rugged.

Another technique for portraits it to try the white of the eyeball, which is generally always neutral unless someone's got serious disease, had a hangover, or left thier contacts in too long 😮

Keep in mind that the RGB values the colour picker is telling you are affected by your white balance. I don't think it's very good practice to use those values for finding the white balancing target colour. I must say though, as an event photographer (mixed artificial lighting everywhere) white balancing can be a bloody nightmare.

Thanks for the info. I have just purchased an R6 mark ii and the 100-500 and am looking forward to giving it a good workout. I note that you have a curved monitor. I have always used a flat monitor for photo editing. How do you get on with a curved monitor? Does it create any distortion?
