I think Ducati knew this was going to happen at some stage. They been selling the most updated bike to Pramac for some years now, so to finally see Pramac beat Ducati Corse in their bike is not really a surprise to them. I do think Ducati are trying to move away from this and would prefer that Pramac buy the older bikes like Gresini which has lead to Pramac switching to Yamaha for the next 7 years. I feel like this could kill the title fights but then again MM93 is on his way to DC next year.

We've had clean professional racing on the track, off the track its also great that Ducati aren't trying to manipulate the championship. This has been a great year for MotoGP! Wish to see more of this and less of unprofessionalism (don't need to name names or highlight incidents, we all know what I mean). Hoping next year and many more to have the same type of clean great racing on and off the track.

If Martin wins, Ducati and Bagnaia will look really foolish. Sure, the title will still be won on a Ducati bike (which is all what Ducati needs), but here's where the cold, harsh truth comes in - Jorge Martin will leave for Aprilia (who would move heaven and earth to convince Martin to switch to the No. 1 plate) and the team he is currently riding for (Pramac) will end its 2 decade association with the Bologna manufacturer after they decided to cut the number of 2025 factory bikes from 4 to 3 and gave the extra 2025-spec to the VR46 team (I'd also like to know how Gresini feel about this). As for Bagnaia - this loss will look even worse if he gets beaten by Marquez in '25. MM93 was occasionally spanking Pecco while being on the older GP23 (he has more points than the other GP23 riders combined) and if he bests Pecco in an equal machinery the following year people will say that had Marquez had the GP24 from day one, he would've won the 2024 title mid-season. With 24 point gap between them it will be a tall order for Ducati to influence the results in Pecco's favour. There's absolutely no way other manufacturers will be willing to help them, so this means that Ducati will need to rely only on their own riders and out of all only Marquez has been able to be consistently on par with both Pecco and Martin. Also, Bastianini has no incentive to help Pecco or Ducati Lenovo as well since he's leaving the manufacturer too anyway (the same goes for Bezzecchi, who happens to be Martin's future teammate)

I applaud how Ducati conducts themselves and the overall spirit of Motogp racing. This discussion and mentality lives in F1 and doesnt not need to corrupt the bike scene when offers excellent racing, even while ducati as dominating the constructors. Seeing Marc on last years Duc is more a testament to Marc more than Ducati as well, seeing him drag it fairly regularly on the podium. Hopefully Aprilia pick up the slack and together with Jorge they will be challenging for wins next year.

Having won the title is probably much more important to them than not having the #1 plate next year. Also there is no real benefit in sabotaging Martin. This would make their satellite teams present and future distrusting. In exchange for what? Imho they are doing the right thing by just letting the championship play out as it is. It will go down in the history books as a Ducati championship and there is no reason to ruffle the feathers.

I dont think it will be a pr blow even in the slightest if Martin takes the #1 plate to another manufacturer. He won that plate ON a Ducati. Now what would be a gigantic or blow is if they were to unfairly take away performance from Marin’s bike. This shouldn’t be trivial to anybody. Hats off to Ducati though for keeping it fair, as it should be for two riders representing Ducati at the end of the day

You could argue that Ducati actually gets a double benefit from playing it fair and square. Firstly there's the PR from being decent but secondly going into next season they can legitimately have no pecking order between Marc and Peco as without being the reigning champion Pecos position and leverage is severely weakened. They will also in all likelihood take the title back next season
@dpopey14 сағат бұрын

How do we know for sure that they didn't try and subtly influence results? What I would suggest is from a PR viewpoint it would look awful for Ducati and VAG in general for that to be the impression, in a way that would have made any benefit of the "factory" winning not worth it.
@robcaseyire12 сағат бұрын
I was thinking the same thing! Maybe Martin is just way better than pecco & is able to beat him even with subtle disadvantages. This channels logic that Martin is winning so Ducati must have given him every update that pecco has is very flawed and makes Ducati look very naive! That's one thing that F1 does better than MGP, give details on upgrades. So we know who is developing what and when they get the upgrades. In MGP, we don't know what differences there are between bikes and teams. Like, MM gp23, I assumed that was going to be on peccos or bestias old bike but it was zarcos old bike that doesnt even have all the upgrades that pecco finished the season with. How does MM bike compare to the Other gp23's? What is the difference between all the gp24's on the grid?

Why will Bagnia not win the 2024 world championship? Because Bastianini can't ride the GP24. Bagnia doesn't have a reliable teammate to take the heat. Ducati fcuked up by not selecting Martin in 2022 as the factory rider. They don't need him now that they have a rider as good as Martin but with so much greater advertising pull Pecco/Marquez will be so dominating in 2025/2026 I'd be surprised if they don't bring in discriminating rules to try and stop Ducati.
@tsanirisfanfadillah197712 сағат бұрын
Ducati did not fucked up, Enea beat him because he had better mentality and result than Martin on 2022. Enea on 2022 is almost identical with Marc this year, you might think Enea had enough time with the Duc because he rider with them for one year. But I don't think jumping from GP19 into GP21 isn't an easy job and yet he delivered a great result on his first time racing with Gresini. Taking 4th wins of the season. People overlooked Enea result on Gresini because he lost his mojo after that crash with Marini on the opening Gran Prix on 2023 and had a difficulty jumping on the newer machine.
@stevecam72410 сағат бұрын
@tsanirisfanfadillah1977 and yet a ride in the autumn of his career gets on a GP23 with no upgrades since the beginning of 2023 and defeated Bastianini on the latest upgraded GP24 which is a demonstrably better bike with full factory support. Bastianini is a young Miller who can only ride well when everything is at an optimum. Bastianini is about as useful as "Fast Franco" to their team mates and how would Bastianini battling with Marquez help Bagnia in anyway I don't know. Anyway you cut it Bastianini's lack of performance has cost Bagnia/Ducati factory the championship. Martin #1 Bagnia #2 Marquez #3

Look at how Yamaha used to play games first with Tech 3, then with Petronas. Look what that got them in the end, no satellite team for a few years, no extra rider data, a huge disadvantage and utter humiliation at the hands of Ducati/Aprilia/KTM. The PR 'blow' of Martin winning for Ducati is negligible compared the PR disaster of being seen to rig the championship. That kind of thing would follow Ducati and Bagnaia around for years. It's the kind of thing sponsors and satelite teams especially would remember, nobody wants to spend millions on a team that isn't allowed to succeed (see Yamaha again).

Yet Pecco took 10 wins. I think the sheer resources in his favour shows itself on the main race. Martin makes it up for in Sprints where his raw pace is more essential

Martin winning the championship on a "satellite bike" is simply a masterpiece with which Ducati writes history more than they would otherwise. To have the number 1 on the bike is certainly a nice pr tool, but imo not nearly as much of a deal as you make it look like. Having the 93 will probably be more valuable in terms of merch sales and pr, so I really can't support your points here
