Fabio stayed with Yamaha because they told him they would give him a better bike WITH a V4. He knew and now it's happening. Pretty cool. The V4 also is narrower which helps with the max width regulations which means! Aero can fill that space not bike.

By signing he guaranteed that at least this season and next are wasted as he’d have no chance at wins let alone a title. There’s no guarantee they’ll be there in ‘26 either. This was quite a gamble in the prime of his career, when he could have moved to a more competitive big and then have returned in a few years if they are competitive again.

The fact that MotoGP will become more of a spec series than ever before is a true bummer, and you've got nobody to blame but the regulators. There's really no technical reason an inline-4 can't be competitive, under the right regulations, and now we've got to hope Yamaha can design and make an entirely new type of engine, taking them out of the mix for two or three years. I think I'd be more satisfied as a fan if I knew there were competing design theories that I might hypothetically see reflected in street products someday, but if everyone ends up making the same bike on the track...it'll be a boring future. I might have to start watching WSB at this rate.
@future62Ай бұрын
Yep... I've been saying for years, ditch all the engine regulations and do a spec fuel + fuel flow limit. Ducati will always have the advantage with a displacement cap because their engine config is the most efficient all else equal. As an engineer I do really find it boring from the technical side

I can’t wait for Yamaha’s V4 engines. But I don’t think it’s the real problem. Honda, Aprilia, KTM all use V4s and they also seem close from the current factory Ducatis. I think Ducati is seeing the fruits of its labor with the Desmodromo technology. Btw I love The Race MotoGP. I can’t wait for the team to grow.

It's not a power issue, it's a technology issue. Ducati went all in on aero and they're so far ahead with the v4 development while everyone else just got complacent. The Japanese which were at the top for so long became complacent and those companies have other products and corporate bureaucracy that gets in the way. Ducati lives and breathes motorcycles only and they put all their effort and resources into just that. Now here is the results.

Racing too expensive too useless. Even world superbikes are too different from any road going bike, full carbon chassis and fairings, different gearbox, cooling, tuning. What's the point of racing if not just for show of who can throw the most money on marketing. If they put the same on improving production bikes then it's more beneficial

Closing the gap is not the problem, making racing exciting is. Ride height, aero, control tyres, these are the biggest problems in motogp. We need to get rid of them to come back with exciting races. What's the purpose of having 5 manufacturers close to each other when the racing is crap. Ducatis have shown us in the last race. Virtually the same bikes and the top 2 didnt battle at all, just managing gaps. Boring af.
@j.taveras84479 күн бұрын
What you described as the problem is exactly what Motogp is, the pinnacle of motorcycle racing technology. Same as Formula 1. It's about competition and developing new ways to go fast which then translates into technologies consumers get, like quick shifters, aero wings, slipper clutches, radial brakes, tire technology, lighter components.....but you guys want them racing like it was the 1970s....and why stop there, just go back to racing donkeys, that's real racing, man and beast, no wheels, engine or any technology....smh. The racing isn't always boring, The top two who didn't battle? the last 2-3 years the winner was decide by the last couple races. Each rider favors a track, each team excels at a certain track. It's not Ducatis fault that all others don't invest into their technology. The japanese got complacent and are buried in bureaucracy. Look at Aprilia, one of the newest teams pulled in Formula 1 engineers to help with their aero, then KTM did the same. MotoGP is technology of speed, it's not just some guy rolling around w two wheels, it's the fastest man on the most advanced fastest motorcycle on the planet and how he executes that. in the 70s they didn't even drag knees, and now Martin is dragging a shoulder, Marquez uses the ride height to power out of turns, they are adjusting engine braking and break pressures on the straights...and now we have things like a six axis IMU.....that comes from MotoGP. Our street bikes are actually now safer because of it, things like wheelie and slide control.... Don't like it, I hear turtle racing is exciting, zero technology and yields zero benefit to daily life.👍

Still just speculation that V4 configuration is the key Suzuki kicked butt with their I4 right before pulling out of motogp and V4 seems to help Honda nada bit (and for YEARS of trying like hell!) . Might be a big waste of diverted effort for Yamaha...or maybe they will get lucky just sorta starting from scratch again? who knows? It does remove the bothersome question at least...

Hey guys 👋I will tell what many people will reject or even be very mad. Last decade or more It is not about engineering or evolution of the bikes or best riders etc.: It is all about money!! The manufacture or team who pays more wins races and championships and if the rider is lucky you get to the team which will win. Unfortunately it is like that. And I am very dissapointed with gp or superbikes. I hope BSB is not like that.

So you say that the person that puts the most work, effort and resources shouldn't "win". That's the dumbest shit ever. So in the olympics the athlete that trains hardest, invest in his training, puts the most research and spends money to better himself...that person shouldn't win??? No, instead it's best if we have a bunch of "athletes" the do as little as possible and just show up and just see which person does best based on luck. Cool!
