one of the saddest songs ever. up there with Save me, by Joan Armatrading, and the Night, by Morphine. beautiful. can't listen too often though. this is the best song if you're not feeling su!cidal enough. :p seriously though, if you are, call a help line. it can get better.

The album cover had a massive effect on me. I was a young teenager and wanted to join the ALF so badly, I thought the revolution was just around the corner and we would go farm to farm liberating all the cows and pigs. Oh well.

if someone made me point to one morrissey lyric that is the best example of why so many of the disenfranchised identified with him so strongly it would have to be "vivid and in your prime...you will leave me behind....i still remember cruising around in my plymouth horizon in college rocking that song out of my alpine stereo and infinity speakers and thinking of the latest girl i was crushing on but would never ask out...hearing that lyric and thinking...yep...mo is my boy!!!

I was happy in the haze of a drunken hour But heaven knows I'm miserable now I was looking for a job, and then I found a job And heaven knows I'm miserable now … Rolling around at the speed of sound Got places to go Gotta follow my rainbow Can't stick around, have to keep movin' on Guess what lies ahead Only one way to find out … Must keep on movin' ahead No time for guessin', follow my plan instead Trusting in what you can't see Take my lead, I'll set you free … Follow me, set me free Trust me and we will escape from the city I'll make it through, follow me Follow me, set me free Trust me and we will escape from the city I'll make it through, prove it to you Follow me! … Oh, yeah! … Danger is lurking around every turn Trust your feelings You've got to live and learn I know with some luck that I'll make it through Got no other options Only one thing to do … I don't care what lies ahead No time for guessin', follow my plan instead Find that next stage no matter what that may be Take my lead, I'll set you free … Follow me, set me free Trust me and we will escape from the city I'll make it through, follow me Follow me, set me free Trust me and we will escape from the city I'll make it through, prove it to you Follow me! Follow me! … I'll make it through, oh, yeah!

me and my friends used to go over to one of our houses, it was like THE spot for parties. we’d have a bunch of people over and we’d smoke and drink, i preferred getting high and at the end of the night me and a couple other friends would always stay over after everyone else had left. we’d order food and then fall asleep on the bottom bunk of my friends bed. we’d keep music playing in the background and this was one of the songs that would play, i remember waking up in the middle of the night and hearing this exact song play quietly before i’d sleep again. then we’d all wake up and make breakfast together with this song playing through speakers. now i adore hearing this song again because it makes me remember those funky times, and sometimes i miss it
