Decades later this one often rises to the top of the list. So extremely beautiful among many beautiful songs they made

A buried treasure of a song, an absolute gem. Writing like this does not come often. How can you consciously contemplate, when there's no debate? 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍

Smiths music is probably the closest thing to heavenly realm in audio form. Their sound is just so otherworldly to me.

On the high-rise estate What's at the back of your mind? Oh, a three-day debate On a high-rise estate What's at the back of your mind? Two icy-cold hands conducting the way It's the Eskimo blood in my veins Amid concrete and clay And general decay Nature must still find a way So ignore all the codes of the day Let your juvenile influences sway This way and that way (this way) This way and that way (this way) God, how sex implores you To let yourself lose yourself Stretch out and wait Stretch out and wait Oh... let your puny body, lie down, lie down As we lie, you say As we lie, you say Stretch out and... Stretch out and wait Stretch out and wait Oh... let your puny body lie down, lie down As we lie, you say : Will the world end in the night time? (I really don't know) Or will the world end in the day time? (I really don't know) And is there any point ever having children? Oh, I don't know What I do know is we're Here and it's Now So... stretch out and wait Stretch out and wait There is no debate, no debate, no debate How can you conciously contemplate When there's no debate, no debate? Stretch out and wait Stretch out and wait Stretch out and wait Wait Wait Wait Wait

I feel like this is a song we all wish to sing to that "certain friend" we all have who wants nothing but to proactively explore every woman on Earth. Never getting enough. Stretch out and wait...

Serene and classical, reminiscent of Greek art, except Morrissey introduces a drop of poison in his lyrics.

I doubt it. But you could take it that way, definitely a lot of people get really preoccupied with trying to get sex and would.be better off if they just chilled.
@DeepRiverApts.6 ай бұрын
It's definitely about sex. Morrissey had intimacy issues and used his lyrics as a way to explore them.

Quintessential example of how The Smiths music was superior to any of Morrissey's solo efforts...
@TheIanoTube3 жыл бұрын
Whilst you're probably correct it doesn't mean much, The Smiths are so good it's near impossible to beat. Morrissey's solo efforts are better than a whole lot of other popular artists out there
@liamliosmyth3 жыл бұрын
Hmmm not sure that’s completely true, this is a good song but not the best Smiths effort, I think there’s quite a few solo Morrissey tracks that are stronger
@jdivision79 Жыл бұрын
Agree 💯. There was something magical about the Marr/Morrissey combo that they could never replicate on their own
@jdivision79 Жыл бұрын
@@liamliosmyth I don't think Moz ever came close to this in his solo work.

@@jdivision79 each to their own I guess. To me thats the beauty of Morrisseys lyrics in general 😁✌🏼
