WHICH songs are similar or are you just deaf?

personally i feel that there is nothing wrong producing similar upbeat bubblegum type songs that they are known for a so good at. Their releases have constantly been good, even the recent I got you and one spark were great tracks..

Off topic but i just wanna know why are they not performing in award show anymore?

I see people complain about kpop being to western and wanting the old kpop back. But then in this video people want something new something for an artist and critisize "copying" old sounds. I don't understand, pick a side. At this point in their careers, TWICE has already done the chart topping and allat. They now have more influence on the creative direction of their music. So if they want to keep releasing the music they want to release as artists then why should judge them. Not every song needs to beat some record. The need to compare numbers is just for fans to feel secure in their artists popularity, yet I thought it was about the music not the awards. TWICE's discography has also showed a gradual change in sound. They have gone from cute, bubble gum music to a more mature, chic sound so to say their music sounds the same is redundant.

comparing to blackpink really if blackpink produced consistently like twice then you would see that all their views in youtube would decrease in downward trend i mean comparing to aespa is ok bcuz they are relatively popular now and they make catchy music but that mainly attributes to their group composition and producers alone.Twice are doing relatively well despite they don't make top 1 in many music shows but blackpink is gone and blackpink also only has few hit songs i don't think i've ever listened to a blackpink b side at all but twice album sales is so huge due to their b-sides alsone so don't always compare them with blackpink

I think as former once myself, the decline in their fan base has been cuz of their concept change. saying they release same thing is kinda ironic when all groups are doing the same, everyone you named have stuck to their own one style except red velvet. Earlier in career twice got lot of love from fandoms who adored their cute style & their style evolving made old fans drift away thats all. Now do I wish for the girls to do cute concepts? idk they dont seem to like it anymore as they are mature now but there is drought for the typical cute concept in kpop concept & no one can do it as good as twice can.

There are some things that I have to disagree with in this video. At 1:43, calling Scientist and Set Me Free "familiar sounds" is not an accurate statement. They could not be further from the bubble-gum pop familiar sounds they have done in the past like Cheer up or What is Love. The Feels I could agree with l so I will give you that one. Again at 2:16, I don't agree with the statement that Set Me Free DIDN'T expand their musical horizons. There is no song that sounds similar to Set Me Free in their entire discography and is definitely a unique sounding song that I haven't heard from them. Whether you like the song or not you can't deny that calling it "familiar" or "the same" feels a bit disingenuous to the group. At 2:21, I won't deny that Heart Shaker and What is Love songs may sound somewhat similar. However, the fact is that it is their style and concept at the time. You cannot blame them for going with a concept that works and is successful. For example, if a company is selling keyboards and everyone likes the keyboards, then why should they stop selling those keyboards? Doesn't make sense for them to stop going for that concept and sound if its successful and gaining attention. At 3:05, that is not a good comparison because Antifragile and After Like are WAY after Heart Shaker and What is Love and people's taste and interest in music changes as time goes on. For example it's like comparing WW1 and WW2, way different eras, militarily, leadership, tactics, socially, economically. It's not fair to judge Heart Shaker and What is Love compared to Antifragile and After Like when both live in such different eras of time. At 3:41, saying Twice is playing it "too safe" is straight up inaccurate. I would say Twice's bubble gum pop sound and high energy song era was between 2016-2019, starting with Cheer up and ending in Fancy. After 2019 with Feel Special, they have done many different songs especially their B-sides. In order it goes, Feel Special, More & More, I Can't Stop me, Cry for Me, Alcohol Free, The Feels, Scientist, Talk That Talk, Set Me Free, Moonlight Sunrise, Set Me Free, I Got You, and One Spark. Most of them deviates, from the standard, bubble gum pop high energy comparatively to Cheer Up, What is Love, Fancy, Heart Shaker, Knock Knock. Not saying that some do fit the standard sound they have. And don't get me started with B-sides and Japanese releases, they have expanded greatly in terms of music genres since 2019 in B-sides. At 3:50, you can't tell me that going from More & More to I Cant Stop me to Cry for Me to Alcohol Free is playing it "safe" I can't agree with that at all. Or even going from Scientist to Talk That Talk to Moonlight Sunrise to Set Me Free to I Got You to One Spark it's factually incorrect to say they are playing it "safe" or sounding the same. At 4:24, you can make that same statement as "this b-side should have been the title track" for many other Kpop groups. When it comes down to it, it starts to become biased based on your musical preference, as "my favorite song on the album should have been the title track". One Spark was one of my favorite title track from Twice. Not my favorite but its up there. However, I acknowledge that some people don't like it as much as I do and that is okay but selectively choosing comments that don't like the song seems to me as picking evidence to fit your narrative rather than looking at the bigger picture. From 4:53 to 6:02, I could generally agree with some of the points like they shouldn't stick with the same producers over and over again. At 6:12, I am guessing you mean in terms of title tracks in which sure I somewhat agree with. However, if you mean Twice's music overall you are incorrect. Nayeon's Na album is majority hip-hop or RnB in terms of B-sides. There are a ton of songs they have that don't follow their standard sound. At 6:45, saying that the shift isn't "big enough" and then using Feel Special, More & More, and Alcohol Free as an example is not accurate when they are big shifts musically. More & More is nothing like bubble gum pop or even high energy I would say. I agree that Alcohol Free is brighter but calling it a standard song from them musically is not right. Dance The Night Away and Alcohol Free are both summer songs, but would you call all three of them "the same"? Not at all. At 7:17, I don't think calling Nayeon's Pop a "typically Twice song" is a bad thing. That is literally who Nayeon is and the song fits her personality and style. Nayeon is the center and face of the group and I feel like Pop really represents that. When I hear Pop, I'm like that is Nayeon. They nailed it when it came to the song that fits Nayeon and criticizing her for sounding what she should sound like and doing it well is not fair. At 7:31, saying that Twice's influence is wavering is simply not true. They are still consistently one of the highest album sales Girl Group currently. They constantly sell out stadiums and and concerts so calling their influence wavering or shaky is not true. At 7:41, Red Velvet has been going in the downward trend in terms of influence (no offense to Red Velvet they are great artists). To Red Velvet's defense SM is doing a terrible job at managing and promoting them. Their songs are great and have an amazing discography (if not one of the best) but SM is not doing their job on promoting Red Velvet. What I hard disagree on saying Black Pink has changed in terms of musically which is again incorrect. Out of all the groups out there, you say Black Pink has been changing musically and stylistically, give me a break. I'm not even going to go into it because that is so wrong that it doesn't make sense at all. That is not to say I hate Black Pink and their songs, most of it is good, but saying they have changed over the course of their career compared to Twice? NO. At 7:57, you said that Black Pink has embraced a more edgy hip-hop style and is more successful but before you said they have a diverse musical sound, something is not adding up. You can't say they have a diverse discography then say they only do edgy hip-hop. Comparatively, Black Pink is not even close to the same quality and quantity discography to Twice or Red Velvet, they are the weakest when is comes to diverse music. Again nothing against Black Pink, they make great music. At 8:13, this is just my opinion but I like NewJean's older songs compared to their newer releases. Songs like Hype Boy, Super Shy, Ditto are far better than Supernatural and How Sweet. Their most recent releases seem to general for me. I could see people disagreeing with me on that. For Aespa's case I do agree that their style is unique and is definitely good. However, I would say that back in 2016-2019, who was doing songs like Twice was in those days? Almost no one, they were pretty standout when it came to their music style so of course they would be popular. The same could be said for Aespa and NewJeans, they brought something new and people follow along. We will see in 4 years if they can keep this momentum up (although maybe not for NewJeans seeing most recent news about them). Charting is not the only way to see if songs were "successful", Twice's album sales disproves this notion as they are consistently one of the highest girl group album sales with each new release. I would also say that Twice has a pretty damn loyal fanbase with Once's and even when they aren't charting as good, Once's would consistently support and buy their albums no matter what and that is what matters most is building a strong fandom. Also, in Kpop, generally new groups do better than older groups. That is how Kpop always is. With each new generation, they usually do better than the previous generation. For example, Girls Generation, Wonder Girls, and 2ne1 have all dominated in their time and era but where are they now? We don't really hear much about them because people move on (I know that 2ne1 recently had their reunion concert which is great to see). What about groups like Exo and Big Bang, they also dominated in their respective era's but where are they now? Point is that people will move on from older groups and cling to newer ones that is how Kpop is. Overall, there are many points in this video that I disagree with and you can agree to disagree all you want but some of it is simply not true. Saying that Twice don't deviate from their standard sound is not correct. I can tell that whoever did this video, has not done their extensive research into Twice and their discography because if they did, they would know that they have one of the most diverse discography in Kpop. You can't tell me that songs like Rush, are similar to Last Waltz, Espresso, Cactus, Truth, Someone Like Me, Ice Cream, Beyond the Horizon, Here I am, Funny Valentine, Closer, Firework, Fly, Promise, Tick Tock, All or Nothing, Butterflies, Icon, and the list goes on and on. In terms of title tracks, some do sound the same I will agree, but saying their most recent releases are the same? No I disagree.

Subtlety is is lost on those who want instant gratification. Jisoo is THE BEST!! The world is in love with this person in so many different ways. I feel that praise for her FAR outwieghs criticisms. There are very few people who can have an instant connection with fans thru the camera lens. The world feels like a better place because THIS PERSON exists.

For your information POP by Nayeon won song of the year and Nayeon won female solo artist of the year and throw in dance of the year at the 2022 MAMA, now explain to me what exactly was wrong with that song, it was TOOO Kpop. Also Twice has already done everything in Kpop, they have gotten out of the way for the new groups and have become International stars, just check out how many 50k seat stadiums they sold out in 2023 and 2024 all over the world, since I assume this was written before Twice went on this tour. Saying twice( the most versatile kpop group) as doing only same is ridiculous. The only complaint I have with them is the selection of their title tracks. Because there is no way some people complain about their bsides. Their bsides can easily be a title track for many kpop groups and it's a fact. Twice never play safe game when it comes to making different types of musical genres. Just because it is not charting high doesn't mean their music is bad. There are many overrated songs that are charting number 1 and people also know that.

can we address the fact that "barely sang in blackpink" is an insane thing to say when she literally has a good fourth of all the lines in blackpink? even if it's not an exact 1/4th it's definitely not less than 20% of the lines. she sang all the time. blackpink had one of the most equal line distributions in kpop. it's completely unrealistic to expect each member to have a perfect 25% on each song. in bp they all got a similar amount of lines and this was balanced with all their very distinct tones. yall need to go listen to freaking loona songs with vivi getting 2 seconds of yeahs to learn what people actually not singing in their group sounds like

i don't think twice need to change anything they're doing. they're still commercially very successful. the same artist can't dominate music charts forever. i think it's great of them to stick to the bubblegum pop sound without aging down the concept to act less mature. women in their 20s can do bright energetic poppy music too and it's still good. i think the solo releases should be a bit less like standard twice music but they've only just started doing solo releases so i'm not too worried. nayeon showed a genuine desire to experiment with abcd and so did jihyo with her solo, so i expect they will continue to challenge themselves artistically in the future as well.

The thing is, people tend to like staying in their comfort zone. It's the same with listeners. If the music shifts too much suddenly, then it'll be as if another group created that song and the group would most likely flop

Fyi... Jisoo went through years, yes years of training. Vocal, dancing, etc... the hardcore traing for years paid off when she became one of the final four members of Black Pink. There were originally supposed to be around 9 members... the fact that she made the cut proves just how incredible she is. At this point hehe doesn't need to do anything at all. Jisoo is a global legend with absolutely NO LIMITATIONS..... I personally hope she releases more music.... like many of us, I want to hear more from her....

She has something else, quality, sophistication, unique personality and beauty, charisma, she transmits something true and valuable to me. I am not a fan of Bp. music but of Jisoo as a person and as an artist.

BLACKPINK my ult girl group. So no hate here. Jisoo got a lead vocal position because they had to give her something. They couldn’t put her as a main rapper because she does not rap at all. Couldn’t put her as the main dancer either or the main vocalist. So she’s “lead vocalist”. And she relies on her visuals BECAUSE SHE IS THE VISUAL OF THE GROUP???? She’s not a terrible singer but she’s not a strong vocalist. She’s very good as the unofficial leader of group, has really good stage presence, and is talent at acting. I just don’t think she’s a talented singer just like most kpop idols aren’t talented singers. With all that being said I still think she’s very much deserves to be in blackpink and does well.

Jisoo and Rose together is clearly what they were going for. They are both angelic and have different tones. One a bit higher and one a bit lower. This combination compliments each other. This would be like saying how come the bass guitar doesn't play as much as the lead guitar. Really the bass is always there and make everything that much richer sounding.

No, Jisoo did NOT want to become a singer/idol originally, she signed up to YG because she wanted to become an actress. and that's exactly what she is doing now, so she is the definition of success, she is doing what she loves. on top of that she has an unique husky voice, and her songs do not HAVE TO BE exactly the same as the other 3, that IS the charm and uniqueness of the BP, they are a succesfull band and they are succesful talented indivuduals as well.
