Ds Lites, DSi’s and DSi XL’s shell swaps are NOT for first time modders. You may be able to pull it off but its a fairly complex disassembly and reassembly. Ive modded so many handhelds but always dread working on these theyre a pain in the ass lol.

Hello. So my psu has the orange light however I have managed to get it to run most of the time by opening up the psu and using an external fan keep air flowing over it. Although Every now and then it’ll shut off out of no where. I then have to mess with the fan, the speed of the air flow, or even turning the fan off till it stays on. I try each thing till it turns back on. L The capacitors aren’t bulging and I can’t tell what is causing it to shut off when it’s all put back in its case and I’m not blowing air directly over the circuit board. Do you have any tips as to how I can find what’s causing this problem?

Unfortunately I'm not entirely sure what could be happening, at a circuit level I can't think of much that would be different when turning the connector around. Is the hum coming through the speakers, or is it audible just by itself?

The point of the video was to not get a generic one, but quite frankly I haven't heard anything terrible about the knock offs. Personally I'll always take the risk because I doubt I'll end up ghosting myself, though I did get a shock from this power supply due to ignorance about mains power wiring in my own country and how it's absolutely terrible.

I would love any suggestions you may have.

As much as I would love taking care of it, I think that I'm not the best person for it. Shipping costs and the like would increase the cost of repair to a lot, plus it turned out shell swaps like this are prone to failure over time especially when the shell quality is poor. (This one was actually pretty bad it turned out, it's not even being sold anymore)
