If you use a net there is less damage to the fish.

St Marks is incredible. So many great spots to fish. Lots of reefs, etc. Hooked up on some nice gag grouper a week ago. Too bad they are out of season. But still had a great time. New sub from my channel to yours.

Thank you for your help, with your help I got up the courage and cleaned the hydraulic motor only that the problem still persists for me and maybe you have an idea how to solve it or what I need to check. After sliding the boat and going with it for about 4-5 minutes and I wanted to move down the trim-engine the fuse 30mA break. What can be the problem?

Good video. I wish you had mentioned how to replace the ATF in the hydraulic pump/cylinder. Fill and bleed.

thanks for your trip.always learn something.amazing that those small fish go after a much larger lure, I see that as well. never saw whole school of jacks like you say, probable a discharge of unwanted fish from some large seine net. John

Cool to see you out of port fouchon and old hatchet island. This is my go to spot and the surrounding Islands in the summer, the next small island is also really productive with a popping cork and matrix shad or voodu shrimp. You will have to weed through lady fish and black tips and also large bill reds, but I Had plenty of solid limits out that way so far. But the popping cork is the best besides the swim and hard baits. A little longer run early in the morning to east timbalier island will also land some nice big trout on popping corks with soft plastics.

Alright John, I’ve noticed you have started throwing a Baitcaster more and more. Is there a specific reason for the change? Any situations you prefer the spinning reel over the Baitcaster? Thanks, for sharing your videos!
@JonMillerFishing6 ай бұрын
Good question. I used to only throw baitcasters until I started fishing jeckbaits and twitch baits regularly. Now I prefer spinning for those lures but baitcasters for topwater and jigs. There are times though when those get switched because of what pole is available. One example is the black Reaper rod with Shimano Aldebaran reel. That combo is SO nice that I want to use it more.

Look's like the Fourchon area. Some 20+ yrs. ago, we used to head west & fish the rocks @ Bird Island. Those days are gone. Good video.

That little fish that the trout spit up early in the video with the sucker fins is a clingfish (Gobiesox strumosus), very common on oyster reefs and rocks. Not parasitic, but trout food

Awesome fishing trip & very kind of you to take a coworker fishing. Which marina do you launch? I’m looking for decent place to launch & park the truck/trailer. I’m not sure the public launch is a good option.

WOW!!! That fast action will wear you out quickly but there isn’t a better way to get worn out that I know of. The last time o fished “the barges” was 2010 and we were wade fishing. I’ve gotten wise since then; I no longer offer myself as shark bait 😅. I have friends that let me know when they are biting good and big size. You two seem to be doing a great job with them on this trip.

I recognize most of the area you are fishing but don’t recall that pile of concrete at time mark 6:40 in your video. Is that new (within last 2-3 years)? Good video. Helps locate fish and builds anticipation.

What does the position/level switch do? I am having trouble with my motor not going down from the top position
@JonMillerFishing6 ай бұрын
The position switch provided input to a trim position gauge on my console. Not very useful information on a skiff. As far as I know, the switch wouldn't stop the motor from going down.
