Hand 7: north obviously isn’t paying attention to Graeme’s counting lectures, he would have worked out south had four trumps and, thus, most probably a natural trump trick or two. Best to switch to a diamond and hope she gets a ruff from a heart switch later.

Very interesting analysis! Hand 3 Difficult - with a balanced hand, N responding 3S might be better but potentially this gives EW a bit of space to bid. 4S cuts them out. Hand 4 As South, I would have rebid 2NT but your 3NT is much better (with a 97% result) Hand 6 You weren't tempted to double 4S with EW vulnerable? Hand 7 What was % result?

I like the way G thinks. There are lots of bridge teachers online, but few who teach how to think. Bridge is a game of inches between the ears. G has great bandwidth.

Interestingly, on board 9, the bidding was done by the 3 robots (the humans in South had no bid) and the opening lead (also by a robot) will ALWAYS be the same opening lead on all tables. Hence 201 same results. Not sure if Roger could make anything from this stat.

Cross ruffing always strikes me as an aesthetic way of making a contract, or defeating one. That's a technique even pretty average players can use. Ruffing finesses, and losers disappearing with a loser on loser play too.

I think you have something with the "beauty" in bridge. I contrast a game you make because of the opponents playing error to a slam you make with good insight into the hands and elegant play.

Interesting comment that you made Graeme. I'm 82 and just started playing Bridge within this last year. I had a little experience playing at our family camping over the years. My older sister lost her 95 yo partner, so her daughter, my niece, suggested that uncle John can do that, ask him. So she did and I couldn't turn her down. So I have 1.25 MP and am playing with people 500 to 4000 who've played for 40years or more if I made a guess. So your comment is quite interesting.....the Beauty or the Beast sort of proposition. I also play tennis. I see so much push for the win in both Bridge and Tennis and most things. I told my sister I will play for the fun of it and the learning. I am competitive but only with my own learning. I think the Bridge game and playing is a beautiful thing and if you are on the beast side you will lose the beauty side. I guess it comes down to a choice in life.....to see the Beauty or to attempt at all costs to win....the Beast...and lose the beauty in life. I've enjoyed watching your channel for a long time as I'm on the learning part still and will likely always be. Keep up the good presentations and comments. Thanks

I don't like multi 2's purely to muddy the waters for the opposition. This style of bidding compares to the loud grunting, double handed backhand, win at all cost tennis players. If Roger Federer were to play bridge, I have no doubt his bidding would be as cool and honest as his greatest of all time backhand.
