Well I think a tax should be added through insurance. If you don't want to have a camera then you pay 100% tax on your insurance. The camera' should have an additional module to allow short periods of random remote monitoring to ensure it has not been disabled.

Errm, what rule in the highway code says that? I have my own rule, if I'm going to cross any white line I indicate my intention far enough in advance for other drivers to find it helpful. Lane change and turns!!!

Do you drive a BMW? Rule 133 If you need to change lane, first use your mirrors and if necessary take a quick sideways glance to make sure you will not force another road user to change course or speed. When it is safe to do so, signal to indicate your intentions to other road users and when clear, move over.

@@Tailspin80 @Sarge084 If I am returning to lane two or one after overtaking, I will consider indicating if there is some reason that I might not be expected to return to that lane or if there is the possibility that I might come into conflict with another road user who might possibly be looking to move into that lane. If you are driving (or riding) on a dual carriageway and overtake a vehicle, it is expected that you will return to lane two or one ( because that is what you should do), so, generally speaking, Indicating is not always necessary. Although I have been driving for quite a few years, I am quite new to motorcycling. In early 2023 I passed my bike test and guess what! No mention of the way I use indicators on a dual carriageway. @@eddiehawkins7049 On a motorway it’s rarely as simple as overtaking a single vehicle and returning to your lane. Usually it’s staying in lane 2 or 3 for an extended period of time as you pass multiple vehicles, and the decision to drop back a lane depends on how long your likely to stay in it before you move out again. If it’s only 5 or 10 seconds most drivers will stay where they are to avoid unnecessary lane changes. It is therefore good practice to ALWAYS indicate. Just follow the Highway Code - mirror, signal manoeuvre. How difficult is that? Occasionally your apparently unnecessary signal will be helpful to other drivers who have not read your intentions correctly. For example, occasionally 2 cars will move from lane 1 and lane 3 at the same time to fill a space in lane 2. Signalling first may help to avoid a collision. I passed my test 52 years ago and I’m still learning!

@@David1964able ah, your talking about filtering down the inside of the stationary traffic, you can filter past stationary traffic, I’m not aware there’s anything in the Highway Code that says you can’t filter down the inside as it’s perfectly acceptable to do so between lanes, so technically on the inside of traffic but it’s not normally perceived as correct. I don’t normally but there was no room down the outside. 🫤 happy to be corrected if someone can reference the Highway Code that says you can’t.

But the e-bike owners not Lime bikers are a different breed and can be very vocal about their right to be on the road on bikes that are effectively e-mopeds not bicycles.
