despite a four month hiatus from commuting chaos, turns out nothing's really changed, the idiots are still out there, it's just there appear to be more of them.

Roundabout ...no big deal really ...id expect that to happen if you filter up rhs of largish vehicle so no one at junction can see you. You went nice and slow so no bigie. :-)

love it when cycalsits go on about how they are "not safe on the raod becuase of dangerous drivers" as they then go though a red. When i used to cycle before I got my car it really pissed me off to see them jump reds

When you view the first clip, I would say this guy would have pulled onto Mini R/A before he seen you, he cut it true but you did sort of sneak up on him really. No hate. Just an opinion.

I’d agree with you he probably hadn’t initially seen me, but by the time he had seen me he made no attempt to take the roundabout properly, had he done so I wouldn’t have had to take avoiding action and would have not thought anything of it. I’m an easy going person that looks to give people space and not be confrontational. Understood you’re not a hater so all cool and thanks for taking the time to comment. Stay safe

Indeed, but the criticism I get from some of the cycling fraternity is ridiculous, and I was a regular cyclist until a couple of years ago, now only occasionally. I never ran red lights or forced my way into traffic expecting traffic to take evasive action. No of them want to take responsibility for their actions. It’s got to the point where I’m surprised in a cyclist actually stops at a red light. Good to be back and great to hear from you again. Stay safe.

It really wasn’t about who got there first it, as the commentary says it’s about motorists who cut across mini roundabouts rather than go around them. When you cut across the roundabout you’re cutting across traffic. I slowed down to avoid him but he took no avoiding action, quite the reverse he cuts in to the turn leaving me less room to manoeuvre, If he goes around it there is no issue for me to avoid. Van, at the end of the video, was not even remotely close to taking out a cyclist. They simply started to creep in anticipation of a clear gap in traffic and held back as the cyclist came into view. Perfectly safe.

It’s very clear that the cyclist is forced to take evasive action. The van driver should not be driving like that.
