Great beginner video! Is there a reason you use different shaped brushes for each painting? A detail brush for the good one and a square brush for the bad one?

Please understand that studio Gibili work is all digital. So, you are not going to achieve perfect to similar results on paper.

The animations are digital but they actually have a lot of artists painting the background traditionally with poster colors and then scan the paintings for subsequent digital process. That's one of the reasons why I really love their work 😊

What would be your perfect gouache palette or set for a beginner? Like which colors do you think are the most necessary and in which brand would you prefer them? I reeeeaalllyyy love your channel and got inspired to start painting (never done it before) but now I just find myself watching videos and buying stuff that I don't use because I don't know how to mix yet, or people saying not to use certain cheaper paints cuz they're harder to use, etc. Please what do you recommend for a beginners palette? Colors and brand. I currently own a holbein primary mixing set. But I would like to add more colors so I don't feel the pressure of mixing all the time.

Hi there, I think Holbein is a great brand! I also like Winsor Newton but they're pretty comparable. My go to recommendation for beginners are 2 tones of each primary colors. So a warm/cool red, blue and yellow plus black/white. After that, it's just a matter of what color you don't wanna mix regularly. I find myself buying a lot of colors but end up not using them often enough. My go to palette currently has: primary red, yellow, blue, lemon yellow, cadmium yellow, pthalo blue, payne grey, white, opera pink and burnt sienna. My opera pink and burnt sienna is kinda collecting dust tbh but they do come in handy sometime when I need a saturated earth tone or an almost neon pink.

This is fantastic !! Do you think in the future you could add maybe a caption saying what you’re doing ? Like “first, add water to paper” “Mix X color with Y color” “Make sure to clean brush between colors” etc etc so it’s easier to understand what it is you’re doing ? ☺️ Thank you regardless for your wonderful videos

Imagine being beautiful and working hard at the same time, you're living truly the best life! I'm jealous, but keep growing, And YOUR ART, I lost the words, Its just the best thing, I imagine being on a beach and painting this in real life, and adding the imaginations and edit everything you see while smelling the fresh seawater as the sand on the ground brushes against your feet and make it really annoying to walk, while talkin to you're best friend and enjoying the most wonderful and a pinking sunset as i descends closer and closer to the ocean, and the ocean eats it alive, the flock of birds go on an adventure to pursue it. The sunset blends the pink and bluish tone as the moon arises from the dark, blue ocean waving goodbye to its beloved sun.
