I just got my copy of Heliana's in the mail. It is really my favorite 5th edition supplement. It was well worth the wait and now i own a book of art from my favorite artist. Jackdaw your a legend ^_^

I know you haven't uploaded in a while, so I'm probably just talking to empty space, but I wanted to try reaching out anyway. I'm a massive fan of your work, and your style has been one of the most influential to me, so I have to ask: How do you do your colours? Clearly you do your values first, then apply colour using layer filters, but which filters, which orders? And the way you refine the values, is that done on a single layer? Soft or hard brushes? You seem to erase a lot to pull back and clean up the shape, am I getting that right? Amazing work as always, and would be honoured to get any tips or advice, Cheers.

Sorry I haven't posted in a while, was wrapping up some projects and KZbin took a backseat. And honestly as far as how I work on a piece, I never quite do it the same way twice. Sometimes I go right in with color, sometimes I lay out a sketch first. Often it is one layer but then layers are added after as details come in or things need to be masked out. I do like treating a shape like clay and pull out the form. Honestly the best way to know what works best for you is to just experiment. Never do a piece the same way and you'll discover weird new styles you'd never consider before! Hope that helps!
