Fusions are just a great way to add a little twist on monsters imo. Very useful for dealing with players who like to metagame and learn all the stat blocks, with fusion monsters it's as customised as you like so you can just totally blow up their expectations. @rabbidcreature96815 жыл бұрын
My thoughts on this set of fusions: Madtrip: Possibly my least favorite. It's creation story of a beholder tripping on shrooms and thinking this into being is funny, but it's design just looks too simple and just doesn't mesh well together. I will say you did do your best for the fusion considering the components (cute grass/fighter Breloom and scary boney/dead Tyrant) Omukade: Everyone thought the preview was Rayquaza/???, but this was cool. The design is colorful and awesome. Mixing the two together well enough where both are represented, the lore is interesting and can see some good uses for it as capital city transportation (for royalty or commoners) or as bad guy drop ship style invasion carriers. Slaghund: Nice design, not much you could of done with two quadrupedal creatures like Owlbear and Houndoom, but still nice. Lore is okay. I'd probably would of gone with they are used as trackers for demons (I do mean demons, not devils there is a difference) or when they are summoned to the material plain they often start large forest/town fires. Would still keep the metal melting part though that is pretty cool. Or instead of melting. When it makes a melee attack on a metal armored enemy and hits. the opponent basically suffers from the effects similar to Heat Metal. Smollusk: Very cute and pretty design and the lore is good, though I do feel a bit more could of been done with it, but its a lovely fusion. Speech Leech: Reminds me of a few things. Obviously the fish parasite that lives in their mouths, but it also reminds me of the parasites from Parasite the Maxim (Namely Migi and the throat parasite). I could see this being a rather annoying creature both to role play as well as get rid of, but in the same vein would be fun and interesting to see how a party would react to it.
@AnkhAnanku4 жыл бұрын
Madtrip: agreed, but would add lore should have focused on spores and psionics over decay. Omukade: might’ve been nice to see how such a creature could be equipped with pilots/sedans/communicative ornamentation, but that could’ve detracted from the reveal of its domestication. Plus it looks just so majestic snaking through the sky in the distance. Slaghund: I was hoping more for an owlbearish head on a houndoomy body: a scrawny owlbear. I didn’t hear any of that metal lore other than that she briefly mentioned the rust monster and saw the plates on its back. Smollusk: bestbestbestbestbest! The textures! The colors! I love it and I want one in my world now! Speech Leech: I definitely see what you mean about parasite: the maxim! Could be the lips...
