Great video. Truly a very short takeoff.

I Love this Color. What a stable approach. At what point do you put power to Idle when landing? We always see you, man. Nice Flight. Is it easy to Manage Power (Speed) while landing with DA62? How is the Engine Noise while inside the cabin? Is the Noise low enough for the passengers to travel without putting on a Headset?

Thank so much for this video sharing, Should generators be started before or after the engine start ? Is there a separate indicator for checking the voltage of each generator???

Used to fly cruise with a little flap extension to bring the nose/attitude down. Little faster too. Well a little less slow. Such an exceptionally clear day with this video. It can get rather nasty on the route frequently. And all the smashing around above the east coast of florida while getting vectors for a 30nm final at one of this congested airports.

Twisting a key to start an engine? How weird and counter intuitive! I challenge anyone to show an example of twisting a security key to actually start an engine.

Ah, then you never had the sense of pride when you succeed in firing up a hot fuel injected 6 cilinder and hearing that glorious sound at idle…

Great video! I used to live a couple of blocks from Ft. Lauderdale Executive. Became a Private Pilot in 1975 and used to fly the Islander in the Caribbean with a friend flying from San Juan PR to Culebra, St. Thomas and St. Croix. I love that little plane!. Due to health reasons I no longer fly, I'm 69 Now. But you can be sure I fly the Islander in the simulator!

This strip reminds me very much of one on the other side of the world at Lamen Bay in Vanuatu. That strip also ran alongside the sea, the Pacific Ocean. I flew in and out of there (as a passenger) and other bush strips in Islanders and Trislanders in the mid 1970s when I lived and worked in the island group then known as the New Hebrides. The most evocative content of this lovely vid is the unmistakeable engine sound of the Islander.

mainly to take advantage of stronger tailwinds, to stay cooler or just for a smoother ride.
