Shanda, Thanks so much for showing us the Lori Rippey designs. I ordered three of them and am working on The Holy Child. I had been searching for a Christmas sampler and this one is just what I was looking for. I really enjoy your videos!!

Just had a moment to watch your last video, thank you for sharing your feelings on being kind, I think we need to be reminded of that daily. I’m hoping I can finish And Heaven and Nature Sing today and that deer is intense!!!!!! Have fun with it ❤️

Thank you and so glad to hear you are finishing up Heaven and Nature Sing! Yes, that dear is a beast! But the whole piece is just beautiful. Happy stitching and stay safe-enjoy the Fall colors!

Thank you, Shanda. That was so inspiring! I loved all of the cross stitching and quilts so much. I used to make primitive quilts like the ones that you do, and so you got my heart longing to quilt again. Maybe I will get back to it one of these days, I just have so much cross stitching and knitting and crochet piled up all around me to do.🤣 Oh, and we live a few miles south of the huge Line fire in Southern California and we had the orange smoky sun and wearing a wet kitchen towel tied around my head to be able to breathe better. The fire is pretty much put out now. Thank you for your well wishes and yes, it is getting so calamitous everywhere. I hope that the skies have cleared up around for you too.
@shandastitchinginidahoАй бұрын
Thank you for your kind comment, oh what times we live in, correct? I too have lots of piles around me and sometimes I feel so self indulged because I have so much around me that I love to do. I think if I stopped buying projects. I would still have enough to keep me busy until I’m 80. Fires are out up here and in fact as we speak, there is a cool breeze and rain! Very welcomed in these parts! I wish you many happy hours of great stitching and knitting, or whatever kind of project you choose to work on. Hugs to you!

@@shandastitchinginidaho I sure hear ya on the amount of projects that we have and feeling self indulged! I think I have enough to keep me busy for 500 more years! Take care and hugs to you too. :)

Thanks so much for your video. Your stitching and your quilting are so beautiful and such an inspiration. Your studio is so comforting and makes me not feel so bad about my sewing space even tho mine does become a little tight for movement at times Lol !! Thanks for sharing all of your beautiful needlework and quilting today. Your Noel Sampler is just lovely! Hope for everyone's sake that the wildfires ease up. We never deal with those big fires here on the east coast like you have to contend with where you are, but last summer, all the smoke from the wildfires burning in Canada made its way down here and it was rough. I can't imagine how much worse it is for everyone who lives out where you do. Safe travels on your trip, and I'm looking forward to seeing your stitching again next month😊

Hey! So my husband always picks a new flosstuber for me to watch and since your “stitchinginidaho” and he loves Idaho, he picked you tonight. As I watched I was blown away since I sit here, in DeKalb and have many, many items from Poppy Seed Primitives surrounding me! Small world! Where will you be coming to in IL with your mom? You are invited to stop by my place if you are in the area! I also have been a longarm quilter for almost 20 years and was an APQS rep until last October! I got the Cheddar and Coal FQ bundle as well! Love Pam Buddha! I gravitate toward her more now that Jo is retired. I mentioned her in one of my last videos too! Lovely lady for sure! Beautiful projects, right up my lane! Thanks for sharing!😊

I love the salt box quilt sampler and am going to try this one...maybe not 1x1, I don't think my eyes can take that. I believe the letters missing is because they weren't included "back in the day" and the I and V were used for the J and U. I'm just learning about samplers (I was taught about all other forms of stitching but samplers). I'm also wanting to chart a sampler for my area with the mansion/farm that was a key element in our small community. Love your work!

Absolutely love the last pineapple you shared! And all the other work you shared with us. Very encouraging to know there’s hope for someone like me who has so many WIP’s! Someone recently told me there are no UFO’s. They are all WIP’s! That was encouraging too! I have family in NC and Florida who have been displaced from both hurricanes but are managing. Not hearing much about the fires but am reminding others to pray for everyone in those areas too. ❤🙏 For all! Thank you for sharing your work!

Oh Shanda we’d be in so much trouble if we were neighbors. Why? Cross stitch, quilting, stash, cats, fabric designers, even your couch or settle. I’m thinking that we have so many things we love to make we don’t have the hours! I think we’d feed off of each other in the whelm of trying to do all the things. I’m so thankful to the Lord He’s given me so many “things” that I can “shop” from my stash and I have enough stuff to last me the rest of my life. Sometimes I can’t even decide which project I will work on as I want to do them all. Yes, life is short and each day is special. We have no idea just how many days we have and need to take joy in the one we’re in! So happy you got to meet Bonnie. Both of you bring joy so thank you. I’m trying to get my old shoppe samples machine quilted because though I’m a hand quilter I did the math and to my shock I’d be at best in my mid 90’s before I’d get them all done if my hands, eyes, mind and life lasted that long, we have a young man in town who opened a quilt shop even though he knows nothing about piecing or what is expected in a quilt shop. He did get a long arm and does wonderful work on there and willing to learn and please his customers. He found out I was the owner of the previous quilt shop in town and knows he’s quilting my old shop tops. I drive him a bit nuts as my shop specialized in 19th century and older fabric and I have a quilt look I want to achieve with the quilting. Bless his heart, like we love to say here, he’s a trooper and has begun to figure out the look I desire. I do love the work you do, the quilts are eye candy. Thanks for sharing.

Indeed! We would be great neighbors but bad for one another, such a bittersweet thing, right? Bless your hand quilting efforts!!

Two years ago today my sister passed away. She was a great maker of all things and especially quilting - something that seemed far to overwhelming to me. I am a totally sold out, hooked stitcher. However, a few years ago I began to learn to sew and as the months passed became more and more interested in fabrics. Today as I watch you, I think of my dear Kate and how much I wish I could sit at her machine as she teaches me to quilt. I am working up to doing one in her honor, and if it goes well, would like to make "mini" quilts to give to hospitals for children. Anyway, sitting with you today brought comfort and such a precious sense of her. Thank you.

I thoroughly enjoyed your video❤ Thank you for sharing your day and lovely projects with us. Good to hear someone else stitched during General Conference! So peaceful. I am an introvert also and like to read and create with my hands. I hope the ash eases up soon. Have never thought of that being an issue. Should have though. I live in North West Alabama and we have been through one of our worst droughts this summer. I am 70 and live on our old family farm and this is the first time corn crops have been left in the fields because they are too poor to harvest. Problems everywhere. But the chickens will be happy after l sift through for ears left❤. Have to look for those silver linings ❤❤

I consider stitching during conference a ‘blessed stitch!’ Crazy turbulent times are all around, right? But silvers linings exist too as you pointed about. Our stitching brings a sanity to our worlds and hope. Blessings to you and happy pondering on all things ‘conference!’ ♥️

Hi Shanda. I know exactly what you are talking about. I moved not to long ago from KS to Wyoming and we are having the worst fire than they have had in a century. I can even see the flames from my home. The ash is unreal and I sit here with my car packed with evacuation things. Has been an interesting week. I am so grateful for our firefighters and men that are fighting this mess to help keep us safe and try to save our homes.

Hello Shanda! I just happened across your channel this evening and I have to say I enjoyed every moment. You are such a kind soul. Your makes are beautiful!! I’ve been a knitter and crocheter for about a decade now. I came across a cross stitch pattern in late May which lead me to English Paper Piecing and Foundation Paper Piecing which took me setting up my old sewing/embroidery machine and now I’m learning to quilt. I’m a Pisces so creativity is destined 🤣 I just love to learn new hobbies. I’m an introverted empath myself…watching you touched my soul. I had to pause and lucked out and grabbed all 3 of Jo’s books from a thrift book store online. Looking forward to flipping through for projects. Will definitely be doing that Pineapple block table runner. Just wanted to take a moment and say hello and “thank you” for sharing your talent with us.
