@@aliosama4132 hello! I’ve got multiple videos out on various builds if you want a more in depth answer but here’s the tl:dr 1. The ‘best’ gear and stats are dependent on your overall team composition and synergy. That being said it is very hard to go wrong with the following stats: Max out willpower Get movement to 14-18 after armor Put the rest into crit or damage 2. Weapons honestly depend on team composition as well. For the most part 2 handed weapons have more AoE abilities whereas 1 handed weapons are single target damage. You can mix and match until you find a healthy balance. If you find yourself having issues surviving fights, make sure your frontline units have one handed weapons and shields, if your frontline is lacking damage and can probably survive without a shield opt for an offhand that increases damage like a torch. @@antifusion no worries, the party is always alive :D Animal fights are one of my favorite ways to grind in Wartales. The AI is very simple and leads to low armor damage while also providing food and experience.

@@derrickkirkman595 ultimately they don’t synergize the best, but depending on how you play you can make use of both of these perks during a turn. As for bravery vs extra passive it really depends on how many units you’re using for your team. You really should only have as many bravery skills as you’d use in a battle. Most battles in Wartales only last 2-3 rounds. If you find that your team doesn’t have enough bravery skills to use one a round, then maybe add more. Otherwise maybe you have too many bravery units for the battle.

@@spamrme1654 the tavern opens DLC changes the entire economy of the game drastically. It makes it to where even on extreme you don’t need to worry about money or food much. Great tip though!

Yes and no. It only strips ‘in progress’ xp, you retain the overall level of your profession. So a journeyman will stay a journeyman etc.

At that point you’re playing solitaire. The ‘best’ or most ‘efficient’ way to play this game is to one-round all of your enemies before they move. I personally find that boring. Infectious oil performs well on archers with zone of control or their ultimate.

Explosive oil has changed from the early access build that this video was based on. I believe misty oil and explosive swapped places, but with the current state of the game there’s some better options out there :)

I should point out that if you surprise an enemy in a forest they are likely to be bunched up together and may touch each other if there are enough of them, but even then, most won't be touching each other.

If you lose the battle your troops that flee will die.

It’s honestly similar to XCOM! I’ve enjoyed it so far, the complexity so far seems to be shallow, but I may be surprised once I’m later in the game!

@@HobiQami life’s been busy, but I’ve got the footage for some videos thankfully. There are timers for every battle that only begin once combat / aggro starts. You’re essentially given about 12-15 turns to complete a battle once you’ve engaged the enemy.

I'll think of it as supporting Shiro and the team for this game I've spend way too many hours playing, buuuuuuut, I kind of wish the time spent on this DLC was spent on adding a new class (cough crossbowman cough, which I think *IS* in the works) or another small/medium sized region.

@@darthpapa this definitely should have just been a community update or an additional feature for a bigger dlc. I’m glad it wasn’t a full $20 like pirates of belerion was, but it still leaves some things wanting.

@@clydian I suggest going for the heavily armored units of infantry and for cavalry ranks of the vlandian culture

@clydian and try to go for a faction with shields and crossbows, like empire factions or vlandia, but I think the mix if vlandia and empire is cooler.

@clydian I'd suggest a custom troop line. Is that you go with this ranking system 1. "Reclutare" (Desc): The Reclutare is italian for Recruit as the Holy templars spoke Italian, as they are called, they hold light chainmail armor a light helmet, small shield and a arming sword, they are meant to serve as a early soldier for the templar line. 2. "Templer" (Desc): The Templer is german for Templar. These are the medium infantry, holding heavy armor, a heavy helmet covering the entire head, a bigger shield, spear, and arming sword, these warriors are proven worthy Christians, to invade Jerusalem, MAY THE CRUSADES START! 3. Templomosok (Desc): The Templomosok is the final line of infantry, meaning Templari in Hungarian. These soldiers are the heaviest duty in the entire calradia, they come with 2 choices of rank, calvary which comes with a chainmail horse armor, and a fast mount (any kind), large shield, spear and sword

Close but not quite, if you go ONLY crit it doesn’t start paying off/outperforming STR/DEX until around levels 10+ What I personally do is use level up allocations to crit and use layers and professions for raw damage stats.

That’s a great question! I promise there’s nothing outside of vanilla game mechanics behind it 😂 On PC with the DLC the new mercenary level cap is 13, if you have a level 13 mercenary in adaptive mode and first time visit a story unit their level will auto scale to your party and above level 13 if you’re on extreme.

Unfortunately I don’t see a way to revert to a previous build on Wartales. I’d personally just try my luck with whatever you get from nexus and go from there. Shiro doesn’t have mod support, and their code is pretty jank, so I wouldn’t be surprised if modders give up with updating mods.

@@h4xnslash900 there were more closer to the original launch last year, but im guessing that modders got fed up with the way the game is coded or how it constantly breaks (or just got bored of the game)
