Yes. Claude Michel Schonberg is teaching Lea the song and she is singing it for the first time in front of the writers, the director and producer.

Such a high stakes audition. They were not only watching her perform. They were also watching how well she took direction. Scrutiny on two different levels!

This is all well and good but I was wondering Lea was talking with a British accent before she even got the role? Any back story on this?
@symph20002 ай бұрын
Lea started in musical theater at a very young age (7). She was Philippines' "Annie" at 9. She is a product of Repertory Philippines, a world class Filipino theater company that stages English plays and musicals for the Filipino audience. They are very meticulous in training their talents on the English language and all its nuances (grammar, pronunciation, enunciation, accents, etc) that their actors can easily switch accents in a heartbeat! That's why many of their talents are able to penetrate Broadway and West End!
@meredithchandler7315 күн бұрын
@johnnymier896 Lea has always had a pretty good ear for accents and sometimes her accent will adjust to the person she is speaking with. (Reminder: this is not Lea's first audition. The first audition was not filmed. This is Lea's callback, so she already met everyone previously.) You can find Lea speaking with slightly different accents in different interviews over the years. When she speaks to American reporters, you don't hear a Filipino accent at all. When Lea is interviewed by Filipinos, she will usually speak English with a Filipino accent. And I think it is sometimes more or less pronounced depending on the person Lea is speaking with. I was watching a video from a few years back when Lea brought someone on stage to sing "A Whole New World" with her and she would slip in and out of a New Zealand accent to match the guy!

As a piano technician...I didn't even notice how horrible out of tune that piano was until the second hearing 😂...her voice is so angelic 😊.. then I watch the 3rd time... and I can tell by the look in her eye ... she's like where you find this monkey boy with his squeeze box he calls a piano 😂
